There are a few differences between the Draw-Tite Hitch # 76253 and the Curt Hitch # C25VR. First off, the Draw-Tite has a ground clearance of 23-5/8 inches from the ground to the top inside tube of the receiver while the Curt has a 24 inch clearance. Also, the Curt hitch is manufactured in the U.S.A. while the Draw-Tite is manufactured overseas. As far as quality, the Draw-Tite hitch is "Tested Tough," which means it has been rigorously tested and exceeds the industry standards for construction. As far as the similarities, both hitches have a maximum tongue weight capacity of 750 pounds and a gross towing rating of 5,000 pounds. They both also have 2-inch hitch openings and include bolt-on installations.
Given the fact that the Draw-Tite exceeds the industry standard and is the more economical option, I recommend the Draw-Tite hitch over the Curt hitch for your 2021 Subaru Ascent.
