I want the best hidden trailer hitch for my 2021 Subaru Ascent. Out of the ones you have which is the best?

Expert Reply:

For your 2021 Subaru Ascent there are four trailer hitch receivers that will be all be hidden behind the center bumper cover, the EcoHitch # 306-X7381, the Curt # C25VR, the Draw-Tite # 76253, and the etrailer # e55ZR.

These hitches are all pretty similar as they all share the same 750lb tongue weight rating and 5,000lb trailer weight rating, and will all install with the crosstube hidden so only the receiver itself will be visible. Since all of these hitches share the same design they will be equally as difficult to install.

I recommend going with the etrailer # e55ZR due to it being made in the USA, but also due to its unique matte black powder coat finish that really blends in the best to the black plastic trim on your Ascent when the center bumper cover is removed as you can see in the included pictures.

If you will be towing a trailer with your Ascent you will also need to pick up a vehicle wiring harness # 118790 if your trailer has a 4-way connector or the # 118290 if your trailer has a 7-way connector, and a ball mount, hitch ball, and hitch pin and clip which can all be found in the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900.
