Question:
I read articles that say the curt 13348 class 3 is not recommended to be installed on the subaru ascent as it doesn’t meet crash test and towing Can you confirm my concerns about your product?

I checked with Curt (the manufacturer) about the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C25VR (13348) for a 2022 Subaru Ascent and they indicated it to be a confirmed fit. They also indicated that it is tested for safety in accordance with SAE J684 as with all of their hitches.
The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 76253 which is the same style of hitch offered by another manufacturer, is tested and in accordance with both V-5 and SAE J684. Therefore, if you are looking for more safety and testing then you'll be better off with the Draw-Tite but they are both great, safe options.
