Features to know about

Built for Serious Hauling: Class V Strength and 17,000 lbs GTW

When you’re towing heavy equipment, you need a hitch that won’t flinch. The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Class V XD - 2" is rated for a maximum gross trailer weight of 17,000 lbs and a maximum tongue weight of 2,550 lbs. The same ratings hold when used with weight distribution, so you get consistent strength across setups. Its square-tube design adds rigidity under load, giving you the confidence to move serious weight safely.

Simplify Your Setup: Bolt-On Installation with Included Hardware

You don’t need to weld anything or source extra parts to get this hitch installed. It bolts directly to your frame using the included complete hardware kit and installation instructions. The holes are pre-aligned for a custom fit, so you can line it up and tighten it down without modification. It’s a straightforward install that’s easy to handle in a driveway or garage with basic tools.

Stay Strong Over Time: Precision Welding and Corrosion-Resistant Finish

This hitch is built to last through years of towing and exposure. Precision robotic welding maximizes strength at every joint for solid performance under heavy loads. The black powder coat finish over a protective base coat shields against rust and corrosion, keeping the hitch’s structure intact even with constant road spray and weather exposure.

Ready for Everyday Towing: Standard 2" Receiver for Common Accessories

With a 2" x 2" receiver opening, this hitch is ready for most towing gear right out of the box. Whether you’re adding a ball mount, cargo carrier, or other towing accessory, it’s built to accept standard equipment without adapters. The receiver’s heavy-duty construction makes it ideal for consistent use with trailers, work gear, or utility loads.

Never received a shipment notice , the package was all torn up , it was dropped off on the side of the road at a neighbor driveway. Our house is on 10 acres and we have a large u shaped drive way our mailbox box is road side and has 5” name and numbers on its side also we have a yard sign that lights up with our address in bold on it . As for the hitch appears well made haven’t installed it yet as hardware was lost in shipping appears.

by:

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you so much. Delivery was super fast and this hitch fits. I ordered the wrong size hitch from two other companies. Should of ordered from you first. It would of been right the first time. Thanks for putting up actual measurements.

by:

Excellent hitch. on install was a little tight on the hole spread frame to frame for a 2001 cab and chassis F550. Works great /stout. recommended

by:

Perfect system!! I built a flatbed and wanted something stronger and couldn’t have had a better fit up.

by:

Nice beefy Receiver, unlike the cheap ones! Installed in 20 minutes not 40 like the estimate, Very simple and quick using a jack to pump it into place (A motorcycle jack work awesome).

by:

The hitch arrived two days earlier than expected. Extremely solid, exactly as we ordered. Customer service was the best. We will use etrailer again in the future!

by:

Hey James. That is not how we want our neighbors to get their orders. You mentioned missing hardware, have you checked inside the hitch receiver yet? Most of the time the hardware will be stored inside the hitch to prevent any sort of fall out when in transit.

by:

Nice fit on my 2007 coachman motorhome with Ford F53 chassis. Correct receiver height and clears the spare tire. Well built and heavy duty, nice product and service from etrailer !

by:

Heavy duty hitch. Pulls 12,000 pounds of loader and trailer with no problems.
Bolted right to the F-550 frame.
I recommend this to anyone that wants a great hitch.

by:

The Curt hitch is very well made and arrived quickly following the online order. It appears the frame to this hitch is the same as the one for the 2.5" receiver, but necked down to 2", so it is very heavily built. Hitch fit the truck well, a 2014 F350 Cab and Chassis, with one exception. The rear rivet clearance holes in the hitch are misplaced for this particular model. One of the rivets on this truck is under the mounting hole for the hitch. Luckily the rivet heads are very thin, so I lightly ground the top of the hitch in the rivet area so it fit flush. Then used the other rivet clearance hole for mounting and made a heavy plate washer for it. I really like that this hitch not only mounts to the bottom of the frame, but has gussets that tie into the side of the frame as well. Overall, very impressed with the hitch and the one issue wasn't insurmountable, but Curt should check their template for the current trucks.

by:

E trailer personnel were very professional and courteous. items ordered Curt class 5 hitch ,Modulite circuit protector , ETBC7 universal kit for trailer brake controller and Tekonsha P 3 brake controller of high quality and relatively easy to install. special thanks to Natalie for her professional input and help.

by:

Perfect fit. Easy installation. Great customer service.

by:

The hitch is fine, but what I really like is the customer service from eTrailer. We order from them ALL THE TIME and they're always great.

by:

We've ordered dozens of these hitches from eTrailer. Shipping is always fast and their customer service is outstanding!

by:

the hitch did not fit '24 f350 chassis cab but they swapped it for correct one. Ashley C went out of her way to help with the tax exempt, most places just send you to a different department when there is an issue but she got it taken care of, great customer service!

by:

The box was a little beat up but the hitch had no damage, all the nuts and bolts were securely attached. huge upgrade for the class III its replacing.

by:

We’ve been using these hitches for years on our fleet of class 6 trucks. We’ve had a few failures after years of service and nearly a million miles, but that’s to be expected. Installation is straightforward and they’ve been super reliable. Highly recommend.

by:

Great product, arrived as promised. Looks great. Should look into some better cardboard packaging box was totally destroyed when I received it.

I have a "Y" adapter on our F53 chassis, lower for toad and upper for bike rack with 2 ebikes. The stock hitch was failing, seeing our ebikes starting to lean. I needed something to hold up the ebikes that bounce going down our terrible roads. This may be overkill, as I'll never tow anything more than 5k lbs, but needed for the tongue weight to support the 2 ebikes. I used 2 holes from the previous stock hitch, and had to drill (4) 17/32" holes for the remaining. We shouldn't have any trouble with this holding up now. I installed myself, using ratchets to put into place and clamping them in place. I needed a stubby drill bit for the side frames, but otherwise it was a fairly simple install for a DIY.

I like the ratchet strap and clamp idea, Daniel! Install looks great and it should be a lot more sturdy than your original hitch. Speaking of the original hitch, yikes! That thing was not doing very well. How much do your ebikes weigh? They look to be on the smaller side in your pictures, but that hitch was not handling the weight very well.

@LazerS They are Lectric, so about 70-75lbs each. We take the batteries out to lighten it up on travel days, but still... I think if I were to have replaced the hardware with Grade-8 when we bought it, may not have happened, but glad to have caught it and really happy with this replacement.

@Daniel Haha! Guess I was wrong about them being on the smaller side. Heavier duty hardware probably would have helped, but it also never hurts to have a sturdier hitch. I'm typically of the opinion that if it's worth doing, it's worth over doing. : ) Let me know if there is anything I can help with down the road. Have fun out there!

  • Availability Of TorkLift SuperHitch For 2026 Ford F550 Cab And Chassis
Hello Jerry, thanks for reaching out. The TorkLift SuperHitch Magnum # TL76CR you mentioned is not confirmed to fit the 2026 Ford F550 cab and chassis. This is not something we have tested here at our shop, but according to all of the fitment info from TorkLift, the # TL76CR would not carry over to the 2026 F550. Sadly, it looks like TorkLift does not offer a SuperHitch or Supertruss hitch for your truck at this time. They should come out with something eventually so don't rule it out...
