Question:
I am purchasing a 2002 F-550 with a 16foot box w/step bumper and loading ramp. What is the distance from frame mount to top of receiver cross member?

I spoke with my contact at Curt about trailer hitch # C15445. He said that from the rear most attachment points on the vehicle to the top of the cross tube is 5-1/2 inches.
If this is not a great enough distance to accommodate the step bumper and ramp then I recommend a heavy duty weld-on hitch # 41990-07 with 7 inch brackets or # 41990-16 with 16 inch brackets. Welding should be done by a qualified professional welder.
