When you’re moving more than just the basics, this hitch is built to handle it. Rated for a maximum gross trailer weight of 8,000 lbs and 10,000 lbs when used with weight distribution, it’s ready for campers, boats, and loaded utility trailers. The 2" x 2" receiver opening fits standard towing gear, and the 800 lbs tongue weight (1,000 lbs with weight distribution) gives you dependable stability under load.
The hitch’s square-tube design and precision, robotic welds create solid strength from end to end. A gloss black powder coat finish layered over a protective base coat helps fight rust and corrosion in rain, snow, or salty conditions. You get a reliable piece of towing hardware that holds up through years of heavy use without losing its clean look.
No welding is needed to get this hitch mounted. The fully welded receiver bolts directly onto the frame using the complete hardware kit that’s included in the box. With clear step-by-step instructions and simple driveway-friendly tools, it’s an approachable weekend project that ends with a sturdy fit and precise alignment.
Only the receiver opening sits beneath the bumper while the cross tube stays tucked away. That concealed design maintains ground clearance and gives your vehicle a smoother, factory-style finish once installed—no bulky metal hanging low or sticking out behind you.

Perfect Fit
Went in like clock work!!! Thanks for sending the carriage bolt Fish cables !!
I'm not a pro, but I've installed 4-5 of these on different cars. This one went on my 2024 Transit 350 Cargo and was quite a bit more difficult. Like other reviewers it didn't fit between the frame rails easily and the holes didn't line up well. After installing the two forward most bolts, I was able to swing it up into position and then used a floor jack and a bottle jack, plus some careful jumping on the bed, to get it into place. I used some C-clamps to get the forward holes to line up. The aft most holes didn't line up - lesson learned, you can just drill these once it is in place with a 1/2" drill (not the 9/16" called for in the directions).
Trailer hitch is excellent
Trailer hitch fit my transit 350 perfectly. The instructions were helpful and accurate. Good experience all around!
i purchased this receiver hitch for one of our company work vehicle. The easy install and over all cost of this hitch makes it a great deal. it has preformed great of a year now and I will likely buy another soon.
The best thing about this hitch is that it is concealed. You don't see the crossbar like other hitches. You just see the receiver below the bumper. It would get 5 stars if Curt the manufacturer had factored in the 2 ply reinforcement on the Ford Transit's frame. This required squeezing the hitch within the frame with a dead blow hammer and a jack. Then you just enlarge an existing hole and drill another hole, using a step bit and cutting oil. THANK YOU E.TRAILER. Your videos prepared me for all this, making it easier. Etrailer's prices are competitive with other vendors. There is a rare chance you might find it slightly cheaper from someone else, but I would be happy to pay a little extra and get it from Etrailer because of all their excellent support and videos.
Trailer was easy to install and very, very sturdy. Very happy with it.
Product is solid, directions were fairly clear (had to deviate a little for a whole that was not exactly as described), and the whole purchase to delivery was painless.
Thanks eTrailer!

Great!
Do not buy. Not even close to fitting. Does not fit between a 2021 Ford Transit 250 frame rails. And the holes on the tabs were 5/8" from aligning with the frame holes. Also if I drilled out the tabs to make it fit, there would only be 1/4" of material left on the tab. Am returning mine. Upsetting.

From your photo, it looks like you have a cutaway model or cab and chassis which this hitch does not fit.
The hitch was a little bit more work than normal to install, but nothing that average Joe can't handle. That said 4 hands would make it much better. I use my hitch for motorcycle le carriers. We have done a out 3000 Miles with 2 bikes on the hitch(about 500lbs) with the rack included and it's leveraged 4' out and have no issues at all. Great hitch
Good hitch, not so good install. Installed on 2019 Ford Transit. Hitch is rated for more than Ford's towing weight spec's. But I like to go a bit bigger when possible. The four horizontal bolts and the two passenger side vertical bolts lined up perfect. The two vertical bolts on the driver side did not line up well. The rear vehicle favored bolt hole needed to be enlarged on the hitch and truck to line up. This required putting the hitch up and down checking bolt fit. This was not easy since the spacial sizing of the hitch is a bit off. The side to side dimension of the hitch is about 1/8" too wide to fit between the frame rails of the truck. 1/8" is not much, but with tolerances between steel on steel it makes a big difference. It's easy to see what is wrong. The frame rails have an extra reinforcement metal wrap on a portion of the passengers side. Due mostly to the factory tow hook mount (tow hook needs to be removed and is not stated in instructions - reinforcement mount cannot be removed). A measurement between the rails not including the reinforcement area would match the hitch dimensions. A measurement between the rails including the reinforcement would be 1/8" or so less. Perhaps Curt engineers did not account for the reinforcement. The attached pictures show a single layer frame rail on the drivers side and a triple layer reinforced frame rail portion on the passenger side. This required me to use a hydraulic floor jack to press fit the hitch into place. This coupled with the misaligned bolt holes made for unnecessary complexity. Removing the hitch to enlarge holes required bar leveraging to squeeze the hitch back down, then jack back into place check alignment, than leverage down, drill, repeat. Again, good hitch, not so good engineering.
Install went great and hitch is perfect.
It was hard to install the hitch. I contacted etrailer and got recommendation to use some more force to install the hitch. With the jack I was able to push the hitch into position. Now it won't move anymore, and I like how it is installed

It sounds like that the side brackets were knocked out of alignment which can happen while in transit to our facility or to you. We do have a FAQ that can assist with moving the side brackets of the hitch back into alignment to allow for installation.

Weve been using the hitch frequently for towing boats and bringing our bikes. Works nicely.
It is a solid product. However, it is not designed for the 2026 Transit 350 as the website suggested. Slight modification and some new hardware will be needed.
The hitch is well made and installed with not much hassle. As with any project there is an issue when installing on a Ford Transit 350Hd. Driver's side bolt nearest the bumper is challenging to insert due to design of the Ford framing. This is a no fault situation of the product. Insertion is just a bit more tricky than the others.
Need to support arms so they don't get bent during shipping
Bent mine back out to make it fit other than that its a great product
This page won't let me upload photos. The hitch was bent pretty bad during shipping. Packageing needs to be addressed, not very secure for something this heavy. I was able to straighten it with a port-a-power and jacks. That being said, the hitch is well made and straight forward as far as installation.
Took me a while to get it installed, it was a tight fit, and had trouble getting one of the bolts fished in the hole I had to bore, finally got all bolts in and tightened up

Looks great, Sherman. What trailer are you going to be towing?

Quick shipping. Great quality hitch. Easy instructions. Videos and pictures online are very helpful. Always a great experience working with etrailer.
Install was not easy. I used a bottle jack and brute strength to fit it perfectly. Install time 2hrs. 1/2” drill bit works just as well instead of 9/16” bit.

Install looks great Christopher! What do you mainly use your hitch for?
Tolerance was too tight. i could not get the hitch receiver to fit within the Ford Transit frame without grinding a little bit off the hitch receiver.
Overall the hitch is great. The installation was a bit harder than it should have been. As other reviews stated, I had to drill the 9/16 holes 1/8 inch inboard to make the holes line up. And the fit was very tight. I used the floor jack method to push the hitch between the frame rails.
Easy to install trailer hitch, minus putting the bolts in the rear frame of 2024 ford transit 350XLT Van.

Glad to hear it was mostly easy! There are almost always a few bolts that are a pain to get installed. Hopefully it wasn't too bad though. What are you going to be using the hitch for?
FAR exceeds expectations--is what I'd write about eTrailer.com
It began with my purchase of a new Ford Transit 250 cargo van, which came without a trailer hitch. Even though my wife and I do not (yet) own an RV, we intend to purchase one--and will of course need a trailer hitch--as we approach 'retirement.'
I mentioned all this in passing to a friend,. who asked if I'd heard of eTrailer.com.
Went to their website, entered my vehicle information and was very pleasantly surprised at what was available for my new van.
I chose a Class 4 hitch, with a towing capacity of 10,000 pounds. It was delivered via UPS (with free shipping) and arrived three days BEFORE eTrailer said to expect the package.
Installation went extremely smoothly, thanks to clear instructions, website photos/videos and also a product that fit my van's undercarriage frame perfectly.
I will definitely use eTrailer again for future accessories like the wiring harness and other items. They've also got EXCELLENT customer service.
Great job, eTrailer!
