Parts Needed To Add 7-Way And Brake Controller To 2024 Ford Transit T-250

Updated 02/05/2026 | Published 01/30/2026

Question:

Hello, I bought a 2024 t-250 transit and am planning to buy a curt class 4 hitch for it and i was wondering if you have a trailer light harness for it. also, I would like to add a trailer brake unit to it. can you steer me in the right direction for hopefully plug and play options? Thanks,

Hey Joel, thanks for reaching out. For starters, the class 4 hitch for the 2024 Ford Transit T250 is the Curt # C14012.

As far as wiring, we do have a plug-in option for a 4-flat. Then we have a kit to upgrade that to a 7-way and add your brake controller. Here is what you will need:

- Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56327

- Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat - 10 Gauge Wires # ETBC7

Those two kits combined have everything you need to add a 4-flat/7-way combo, including all the necessary wires for a brake controller. For that, the Tekonsha P3 # 90195 is what I recommend.

Take a look at the install video I linked below.

Do you plan to install all this yourself, or are you taking it to a shop?

@JoelB we installed the same hitch on my 2024 Transit 350. Hitch was well made, but it was a PITA to install. 2 holes in frame were slightly off from tabs on hitch receiver and there was no factory hole in the framerail as mentioned in instructions. Frame rail was boxed so I could not access easily. Had to drill hole in side of frame, large enough for nut to fit through, then drill through bottom of frame. Hope for the best, expect the worst. Good luck!

@Chris Hey Chris, thanks for sharing! Yea it seems like these things never go exactly according to plan, and there is always a roadblock or two. Glad to hear you got it done though. Thanks again for the feedback!
