Was A little hard to install BUT only because I did it on the ground with just floor jack & jack stands - no lift . .
Would have been easy on a lift or if I could have gotten the car higher.
Otherwise easy enough and fit perfectly!
Hitch received quickly and with everything required to install. Good quality. Fair price. Packing was not very good. Box was damage on both side and hitch paint was slightly scratched (see pictures). Did not returned it because damages were minor.

Good design. Installation instructions and video referenced an older type of wiring harness, and the steps to move it on the 2022 Kona Limited are different than expected. If you follow the instructions, you will break the plastic piece that retains it to the bottom of the bumper beam. Proper procedure is to slide it to the left, not to pull it out vertically.
MISSING SPACERs #11529-SP from parts kits (bolts and fish wire). Shipping box had holes all over it. POOR BOXING! Not strong enough for weight of hitch. Now I've got to wait another week to get missing parts! WHY can't anyone do their job right?? That is what we pay you through buying this product.
2018 Hyundai Kona SE. The hitch works great for using my hanging style bike rack. Insulation was difficult and took three people to complete. The bolts were very difficult to get into place. We had one on the passager side that was impossible to get into place and had to improvise. The insulation took about 3 hours to complete. Two of the three people installing are skilled auto workers.
Etrailer had a hitch for my car when no one else had one. And it was the Curt hitch, and they shipped it out right away! I’ve been pulling my jet ski and tear drop camper every since!!!

I purchased this Curt hitch for my wife's car, a 2020 Kona. No drilling or cutting was necessary. It was relatively easy to install. It took me about 40 minutes but it would have been easier with a helper to assist lifting the hitch into place. Whats even better was i found another hitch right after ordering this one that was a few dollars cheaper elsewhere. I sent Etrailer an email with the link and they beat their price no questions asked and they immediately credited my account the difference. For that i will always be an etrailer customer. They are a great company to do business with.
Straight forward install except for the missing spacers. I acquired some from a friend to complete the install.
Product appears to be of good quality and well made. Installation was straight forward if you follow instructions. Definitely much easier with vehicle on a lift; and even then it was easier with three sets of hands. The hitch was installed on a Hyundai Kona for a bike rack.
Was very easy to install and looks clean and tidy once installed on my 2019 Hyundai Kona. Has the look of a factory tow hitch with the crossbar being hidden behind the bumper as it should be.
I personally recommend removing the rear bumper to install the hitch. It made it way easier to install on the ground without a lift. There are step by step instructions online on how to remove the rear bumper cover and it’s easy to do.
Overall install took about an hour.
Have used it for a bike rack so far and it’s been solid. Once I get in my wiring harness I will tow light loads with my kona as well.

Overall, a great hitch that perform as needed for a 2022 Kona. Box arrived on-time, with some tears, but nothing missing. Installation was moderate effort; the fishwires were challenging, but once in place they worked. My Kona is FWD but I still had to drop the exhaust to get the right side of the hitch lined up. There was no model-specific wiring harness for the 22 Kona, so I used the generic CURT 56187 powered harness and positap connectors.
Overall a decent hitch. The installation however was much more difficult than expected. Even with following the [online] video instructions.

The installation of the hitch is an involved installation. I recommend watching the video that we have on a 2020 Hyundai Kona.
One year later and I couldn't be happier with my hitch receiver and etrailer has the best customer service!

Great!Love my hitch & bike rack. And everyone was so helpful when figuring out what I wanted & needed.
Install went smooth. Using the included "fish wire" to get the back up nuts inside the frame channel took a medium level of skill. After 15 minutes of that, the hitch was completed. Heed the tongue weigh warning. A receiver mount bike rack with 2 mountain bikes seems to have lowered the receiver about a 1/2 inch. The hitch didn't flex, I believe the frame holes have elongated slightly. I do go on dirt roads and paths that may have contributed to the hitch sagging. On a few occasions I remember the bikes slamming up and down in the rear view mirror. A small trailer will not bounce around like this.
High quality. 4 stars because I did have to trim some inner plastic structure to keep the bumper cover from bulging on the Passenger side. A HD box cutter was all that was needed to cut the plastic structure out.
Works good, my mechanic watched the video on the website and installed in less than 45 mins.

Trailer still works great after more than a year!
I watched your video before installation which helped greatly. I was able to install it by myself. There were two conveniently located holes in the cars frame which I was able to tie the hitch to with rope. This brought the hitch just below the installed bolts for easy alignment. The enclosed instruction pictures could have been larger and clearer. Can’t wait to use it on our summer vacation.

Its been a great hitch. Easy install. Only minor issue, but believe its most 1 14 hitches, the ball mounts very sloppy causing lot of movement. I addressed this simply by adding the ball mount anti rattle. Handles my double jetski trailer with no problems
Fit good, looks good. The hitch lined up with the factory holes. Most definitely should have a helper installing. Watched the install video and fallowed the instructions no issues.
Product arrived as promised...no damage to box. Product well constructed and fit as described. We did have to drop the muffler of the Kona but installation went smoothly. Lauren - my customer service rep - was very personable and responded to emails quickly.

Installed on a 2020 Kona. No issues going on other than the lack of room underneath. Everything bolted up just fine. I was a little concerned at first reading the instructions about how to feed the bolts through the frame with the fish wire, however it was very easy to do after getting under the car and seeing it first hand. Definitely make sure you screw the bolts onto the spring at the end of the fish tape to ensure they don't fall out when pulling and tugging. I also kept the fish tape on the bolts, past the end through the holes on the hitch to guide it onto the frame mounting points before pulling them off the bolts.
Passengers side a night mare. Not shown in how to install in video wonder why? For what reason the made that end longer with a curve in it to block view to see holes to fish bolts threw. Once I did get bolts threw frames takin wire off with no room my hand went numb. Took a break and turned body to use other hand. This side took an hr. Longer than drivers side. Took 4hrs to install and on car ramps and floor jack i made just for installing hitches no need for second person.
My model was same in video but muffler went left to right across back end about three feet long not like there small one that went front to back. So I took it off to install hitch. When done I had 1 1/8 inches of clearance between hitch tube and muffler so yes it fit. Just another point for all installing don’t try to pull fish wires out of hole with ur finger tip just about impossible. I took a fish hooked toll to pull wire down the feed holes much easier and faster. I would love to see two people do this in 30 min as said in directions. This is not my first hitch install more like over 50 some. I would pay to have them install it in a 1/2 hr. On a scale of one to ten it was a ten to install meaning very time consuming. My worst was only a five. Good luck. Glad it’s done but won’t do this one again. Looks nice, well concealed and works so for the price I did it. Staff superb to work with fast to ship.
I did the installation by myself, so I made a fixture to attach to my floor jack to lift the hitch into place. It worked perfectly! The hitch is well constructed and fits the car precisely. Instructions and video were super helpful and much appreciated. Using the hitch for a bicycle rack. My old rack attached to the car, and left marks and scratches on the paint. This hitch allows me to transport bikes without touching the vehicle at all!
Although the instructions say this will not fit the Kona EV, in fact it fits just fine. The bumper cover, bumper cover bottom trim, and the under-tray all have to be trimmed but other than the center of three supports that connect the bottom trim and under-tray to the bumper cover, all fasteners go back into their original locations. In the last picture you can see how the left endplate of the hitch pushed the bumper cover and trim back and down. If I trimmed it to sit perfectly, I would have lost the screw that connects the bottom trim to the upper cover so I only cut it as much as I dared.
