Trailer Hitch for 2018 Hyundai Kona and 2019 Kona Electric
Published 11/16/2018 >
Question:
Are the trailer Hitch for Hyundai Kona also suitable for the Kona EV ?
asked by: Terje S
Expert Reply:
The Class I hitch we offer for the 2018 Hyundai Kona, Curt # C11529, is designed for the 1.0L and 1.6L gasoline models. For your 2019 Kona Electric version you will need a different hitch. For your 2019 electric, you would use the Draw-Tite Class 3 # DT52GR.
The electric versions need a different hitch because electric vehicles will have their batteries placed low and to the rear in the car. This placement means the hitch for the gas models does not fit and a new one must be designed.
