  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2009 Toyota Highlander Hybrid with Full Sized Spare
For your 2009 Toyota Highlander Hybrid that has the full size 19 inch spare you'd want the Curt hitch part # 13534 as it is the one that fits the best with the large spares like what you have. If you check out the picture I attached you'll see a full sized spare stowed under the vehicle with the hitch installed. I attached an install video for this hitch for you to check out as well.

  • Trailer Wiring Harness for a 2012 Toyota Highlander with Factory Towing Prep Package
If your 2012 Toyota Highlander came with the factory towing package then it should already have a trailer connector. But if there isn't one you can use either a hardwire harness such as # C59236 or the plug in style # 118449. The plug in style is much easier to install. I have linked its instructions and a video showing installation on a 2012 Highlander. I have also included a link to the hitches available for your Highlander if you have not decided on one. The most popular is Curt hitch...

  • Replacement Rubber Straps For The Rhode Gear 4 Bike Hitch Shuttle Bike Rack
I called my contact at Yakima and they informed me that they currently do not make nor stock replacement parts for the Rhode Gear 4 Bike Hitch Shuttle anymore. However, I suggest trying the Replacement Rubber Straps for Yakima BedRoc and Older Big Horn Models part # Y8820103 as these are very similar to your current support straps and according to the Yakima representative, should work for you. I would also agree with this statement as they do look very similar though, but since they have...

  • Installation Details for Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver, Part # 13534, on a 2013 Toyota Highlander
The Curt Class III Hitch Receiver, part # 13534, does not include a mounting location for trailer connector brackets. (This hitch does install above the passenger side exhaust). DrawTite part # 75726 is a hitch for your Highlander that does include a mounting location for the trailer connector braceket, and this hitch also mounts above your passenger side exhaust. If you still prefer the Curt Hitch, part # 13534, we recommend mounting the 4-way bracket to the bottom of the bumper, or...

  • Does Curt Trailer Hitch # 13534 Stick Out Beyond the Bumper on a 2012 Toyota Highlander
On the Toyota Highlander models on which we have installed Curt trailer hitch # 13534, we have found that from the center of the hitch pin hole back to the rear bumper is approximately 2 inches. This would put the receiver face just about flush with the rear bumper. However, there may be some subtle differences between models, even in the same year that could result in the receiver face being at most only a few inches, so you should not have any issues. I have included a link to a video...

  • Replacement Hardware For Hitch That Fits A 2013 Toyota Highlander
Hi Mark! We can definitely get you replacement hardware for installing a hitch on your 2013 Toyota Highlander. Do you happen to know which hitch you have? It's not the end of the world if you don't, but figured I would ask. If you aren't sure, just use the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 13534 as a reference. You will need the # RHK and all you need to do is put that 13534 part number in the box above the add to cart button (see attached image), and we will...

  • Curt Hitch Not Lining up With Bolt Hols on 2008 Toyota Highlander
Appreciate the purchase of the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13534 for your dad's 2008 Toyota Highlander, and what is happening here is called flexing. It is something that sometimes happens during the shipping process, where the hitch will "flex" or bend a small amount due to the fact they are made of a milder steel that allows the hitch to flex with the vehicle frame. But hitches like your Curt # 13534 can be flexed back into shape, and there are a few different ways to do this. I have...

You will need the Curt Class III Round Tube Trailer Hitch, item # 13534, and with the tow package you will need the T-One Connector Wiring Harness with 4 Pole Trailer Connector - Toyota Highlander, item # 118449. I would go ahead and install the 7-Way connector. We have the Brake Controller 7 & 4 Way Installation Kit, item # ETBC7, which includes everything needed to install the wiring for the 7-way connector, once you have the 4-Way installed. Glad to hear that you were able to easily install the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13534. I will be happy to help you troubleshoot the Curt T-Connector # 56042 for your 2011 Toyota Highlander. Since you do have the factory tow package on your Highlander the only thing that I can think of is that you either have a bad fuse or no fuse at all for the trailer lights. • Torque Specs for Hex Bolts to Install the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13534 on a Toyota Highlander
The torque specs for the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13534 (that fits a 2008 - 2013 Toyota Highlander) can be found as step 5 on the second page of the attached installation instructions. Sometimes manufacturers might swap hardware out so that the hitch is compatible with a newer vehicle which changes the torque specs. This is why I am referencing the linked instructions instead of just posting the torque specs because there is a potential for change years down the road.

Other than the fact that the Curt # 13534 uses a gloss powder coat finish and the etrailer.com brand # e98858 hitch uses a matte finish powder coat, there's no difference between the two hitches. Curt manufactures the etrailer.com brand hitches for us, so you know it's a high quality product. If you'll be using the hitch for towing purposes, you'll also need a trailer wiring harness, a ball mount and a trailer ball to complete your towing setup. For a wiring harness, use part # 118449,...

  • What are the Torque Ratings for a Hitch Installed on a 2008 Toyota Highlander
Though it will depend on the hitch you have installed, all of the M10 bolts for the Draw-Tite # 75726 and 75586 should be torqued to 42 lb-ft. The Curt # 13534, which also uses M10 bolts, should be torqued to 48 lb-ft. If you installed an EcoHitch, like # 306-X7137, the M10 bolts should be torqued to 60 lb-ft. This should be checked every now and then to make sure everything is secure. I generally recommend doing so at the beginning and end of the towing season.

  • Why Would Mounting Holes of Curt Hitch 13534 Not Line Up Perfectly with 2013 Toyota Highlander
Sometimes hitches can get slightly bent during shipping and this can be fixed by bending the hitch back into place as long as the hitch only has a slight bend to it. If the # 13534 wasn't lining up I can almost guarantee that is what happened. Some people will use open steps for leverage, vices and even car jacks to apply controlled force to bend the hitch back. You will want to look for flaking paint and physical stress marks on the hitch before and after you attempt to bend the hitch...
