Features to know about

Switch to a Gooseneck and Get Your Truck Bed Back

When you're not towing your fifth wheel, you still need your truck bed open for everyday use. With this direct replacement pin box, you can hitch your trailer to a gooseneck ball and clear out the bulky fifth-wheel hitch that eats up space. Load your tools, haul lumber, or stow your weekend gear without worrying about having enough bed space. It's designed to keep your fifth wheels ride height and weight balance just right, and it installs with the included hardware. At about 175 lbs, it's a two-person lift, so grab a buddy or a hoist to make the job easier.

Built for Smoother, More Relaxed Towing

If you've had it with an air-bag pin box that seems to lose pressure or need topping off, this gooseneck pin box gives you the same comfort without the upkeep. The GooseTech cushioned pin box uses a heavy-duty rubber shear spring to absorb vertical and fore-and-aft movement, softening the jolt from bumps, dips, and bridge seams. You'll feel less chucking up front and experience a more relaxed ride on long hauls.

Optimized for Your Trailer's Weight

Although this pin box can tow up to 24,000 lbs, the internal rubber shear spring is optimized for trailers that range from 11,501 to 14,000 lbs. A rubber spring built for 24,000 lbs trailers would be too stiff to provide any cushion for an 11,501 lb trailer, while a rubber spring built for 11,501 trailers would be too flexible for a 24,000 lbs trailer. To get the best results from this cushioned pin box, the sweet spot is a trailer in the 11,501 to 14,000 lbs range.

Ready for an Easier Way to Hook Up and Disconnect?

With GooseTech, hooking up happens fast. As you lower your trailer onto the gooseneck ball, the spring-loaded coupler clicks into place and locks down tight, so you don't have to latch it by hand or wonder if it's secure. Once you're connected, climb in to attach your safety chains (sold separately) for that extra peace of mind before you head out. When it's time to unhook, reach into your truck bed with the included remote handle to pull the release handle. And when you're parked for the night, use the built-in lock hole to secure your trailer and sleep easy.

Video Transcript for Review of MORryde 5th Wheel Gooseneck Adapter - GooseTech 5th Wheel To Gooseneck Pin Box - MR37MV

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this MORryde Gooseneck 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Pin Box. Now, when your 5th-wheel isn't hooked up, your truck doesn't have to sit idle, it can still get things done. This cushioned 5th-wheel-to-gooseneck pin box is going to let you switch from towing to hauling with ease. So, by replacing your Lippert 1621 5th-Wheel Pin Box, this is going to connect straight to your 2 5/16-inch gooseneck ball, so you're gonna be able to forget about that bulky 5th-wheel hitch that takes up so much space in the bed of your truck. And then once your trailer is parked and you're disconnected, you can carry whatever you want in the bed of your truck because you don't have that bulky 5th-wheel taking up so much space in the bed of your truck.

Now, with this, you are also going to notice a smoother ride. This does have an internal rubber shear spring that's going to help absorb those bumps and road shock, and so that's gonna cut down on that annoying chucking feeling that often comes with towing. And this is built tough. This has a really nice powder-coated over durable steel construction, so this is gonna be ideal for your trailers from 11,500 to 14,000 pounds. So, this is robust, very durable.

It's gonna hold up really well for you and it's built for the rigors of 5th-wheel towing, but also it's gonna give you that comfort that you're looking for. This is going to install with the included hardware that you see here, so no extra parts are really gonna be needed with this. It's gonna come with everything that you need. And even though installation's gonna be pretty simple and straightforward, I do wanna make you aware of the fact that this is heavy. It weighs about 175 pounds, so make sure that you do have the support that you need to lift this into place.

I needed about two additional people to help me safely get this on my table, so just so you're aware of that. Hookups are gonna be pretty simple. Let me give you another angled view here just to give you a view of our coupler here. So, this coupler is going to latch automatically, because this is actually a Demco EZ Latch Coupler that we have on here. So, all you have to do is leave that latch closed and this is going to connect automatically to your ball, and then you're, when you're ready to disconnect, you're just going to open up that latch and you're gonna be able to lift this off that ball.

And this also includes this remote release handle that you see right here, so you're not gonna have to climb into the bed of your truck, you can just use this handle, and that hook is going to just latch right onto here, and then you're just going to be able to use that hook to open this up, just as simple as that. Now, if you also notice, we do have spots here for safety chains. We have one here and then one on the opposite side here. And if you don't have safety chains, I do have a recommendation for you on your screen. You can just take that model number and pop it in the search field of our website. That will take you to the chain, and you can add that to your order if you're in need. One final thing that I wanted to mention is if you're not sure which pin box that you have currently, there are a couple of ways in which you can figure that out. On this product page, a little bit lower on this product page, we do have a Help article linked entitled Four Steps of Choosing Your 5th-Wheel Pin Box, so definitely take advantage of reading over that article that we put together for you. But if you need any other additional help, whether you have questions about this or anything else that we carry here, or you need further direction on helping you find that pin box, don't hesitate to reach out to us, 'cause we do wanna make sure that you're getting exactly what you need. Well, again, my name is Andy, thank you for joining me.

After years of trying different hitch setups, the MoRyde GooseTech has become my favorite towing system yet. We’ve towed over 1,200 miles with it, and it’s been smooth, quiet, and completely maintenance-free , no airbags to refill, no grease fittings to mess with, and a super simple hookup process. Plus, when I unhook, I get my entire truck bed back. It feels like MorRyde took everything I loved about their rubber pin box and made it even better. I couldn’t be happier with how it tows.

  • Recommended Lock for MORryde GooseTech 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box
Hey Jeff! The MORryde GooseTech 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box # MR97MV comes with a Demco eZ-Latch. The best option for a lock is the InfiniteRule Lock for Cast Demco eZ-Latch Trailer Couplers # IR66FR. This is designed to for a standard coupler but fits the GooseTech as well. Are you replacing a 1621 on your 5th wheel?

  • Can PullRite SuperGlide 5th Wheel Hitch Hook Up At An Angle
Hey Bill! The PullRite SuperGlide 5th Wheel Hitch # PUL28RR really can't be hooked up at an angle. According to the manual, "the truck and trailer centerline must be within 10 degrees of each other." This is pretty typical for a sliding 5th wheel hitch like the SuperGlide. A lot of people make the switch to a gooseneck pin box like the MORryde GooseTech 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box # MR37MV so the angle doesn't matter. These are pin box and GVWR specific so if you want to go that route...

  • What Size Safety Chains Fit MORryde GooseTech
Hey Terry! Safety chains like the Gen-Y # GY49GR will work with the MORryde GooseTech 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box # MR99MV. The safety chain slot can handle 3/8" or 5/16" so either size will fit. We prefer the Gen-Y because they're easy to install on the GooseTech. Do you have a Lippert 1716 bolt pattern on your 5th wheel? The GooseTech is bolt pattern and weight specific so you want to make sure both are correct for your trailer.
