Hi Glen, It will depend on what the GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating) is of your trailer to determine which B&W 5th wheel to gooseneck adapter will work best for you. Fifth wheels and gooseneck trailers go off of pin weight instead of tongue…
Hi David, that’s a really good question and I’m glad you’re looking at the bigger picture here, because this is exactly where people start thinking about long term stress and not just whether something will fit. Before I get into that, The Gen-Y…
Hi Bruce; the MORryde GooseTech 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box #MR97MV doesn't have any real vertical movement. However, the rubber spring will still absorb and dampen road shock at the connection point within the pin box. The rubber sheer spring…

I spoke with my contact at Trailair and from your serial number we were able to determine that your trailer came with a 1621 HD pin box which is a long pin box style. I was unable to obtain the exact part number for your Trailair pin box but from the…

Greg, with your 1716 pin box, the Gen-Y Nomad #GY57ND is the correct model, and it maintains essentially the same front-cap-to-ball distance as your factory box - meaning no added turning clearance, but also no reduction. Gen-Y lists it as offering…
Hey John, this is a great question. I asked B and W about whether or not the B and W Fifth Wheel to Gooseneck adapter part #BW73RV would void the frame warranty and they said it has been extensively tested and engineered to provide a smooth, stable…

Hey Stephen, if you were wanting to go with an Andersen Ultimate fifth wheel hitch best option would be the part #3220 which is designed to attach to a gooseneck ball. So then for a gooseneck ball you would want the Curt #C38CR which was designed to…

Swap your fifth-wheel hitch for a clean bed and tow on your gooseneck ball. This 5th wheel gooseneck adapter replaces pin box to bolt up where the original came off, keeping the hookup simple. For short beds or tailgate clearance, consider an offset design or use an offset gooseneck ball, and match to your current pin box number or bolt pattern for compatibility.
Short-bed setups typically benefit from offset. Some adapters provide a 3" offset; others have no built-in offset and rely on an offset gooseneck ball. One setup needed a 4" offset ball to open the tailgate while hitched. Measure cab-to-ball distance and your trailer's nose width to confirm turning and tailgate clearance.
Match the bolt pattern on your trailer's pin box. Adapters are offered for common patterns like 1621, 116, and 1716, and install using the same bolt locations as the old pin box. Check the sticker or serial number on your current pin box to verify. Set the adapter in the bed, couple to the ball, and use a jack to fine-tune height for bolt alignment.
You can see reduced chucking and better damping, but results vary by setup. One setup was a night and day improvement with rhythmic chucking gone, while another saw little improvement on the first trip. MORryde GooseTech uses a rubber spring that dampens shock with 3" of fore/aft travel and no real vertical movement. Recheck height and clearances if you feel excessive chucking.
Install usually takes about an hour and uses the old bolt locations. Support the adapter with a jack, start a few bolts per side, then finish tightening. Some kits don't include new hardware, so be ready to reuse bolts and inspect mounting plates for alignment as you torque them. GooseTech uses a Demco eZ-Latch; use an InfiniteRule lock for cast Demco eZ-Latch couplers. Safety chains are required on GooseTech.
