Hi Bruce; the MORryde GooseTech 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box # MR97MV doesn't have any real vertical movement. However, the rubber spring will still absorb and dampen road shock at the connection point within the pin box. The rubber sheer spring has 3" of fore/aft travel because that is the direction chucking occurs. This is caused be the acceleration and deceleration of your truck.

Do you have a Lippert 1621 bolt patter? The # MR97MV is designed to fit a 1621 on trailers between 14,000 lbs to 18,000 lbs GTW. If you aren't sure about your current pin box you can send me the serial number (S/N) off of yours and I can identify it through Lippert. You will also need safety chains to complete your setup # MR23MV.

Hi Bruce, did you get a chance to confirm whether your trailer uses the Lippert 1621 bolt pattern for the GooseTech pin box? Once you know that, it’ll be easier to confirm the right fit. Let me know what you find—I’m happy to help narrow it down.

@RobinH, I decided to go with the Reese Goosebox and I know which model I need. Thanks.

@BruceN have you already gotten one? If you haven't, you better hurry up. Reese is for sale after First Brands went bankrupt. The last time they were sold the Goosebox was out of stock for something like a year.
