When your fifth wheel's unhitched, your truck still has work to do. This cushioned 5th wheel to gooseneck pin box cuts down on chucking and frees up your bed when the trailer's parked so you can haul what you need, when you want.
When you're not towing your fifth wheel, you still need your truck bed open for everyday use. With this direct replacement pin box, you can hitch your trailer to a gooseneck ball and clear out the bulky fifth-wheel hitch that eats up space. Load your tools, haul lumber, or stow your weekend gear without worrying about having enough bed space. It's designed to keep your fifth wheels ride height and weight balance just right, and it installs with the included hardware. At about 175 lbs, it's a two-person lift, so grab a buddy or a hoist to make the job easier.
If you've had it with an air-bag pin box that seems to lose pressure or need topping off, this gooseneck pin box gives you the same comfort without the upkeep. The GooseTech cushioned pin box uses a heavy-duty rubber shear spring to absorb vertical and fore-and-aft movement, softening the jolt from bumps, dips, and bridge seams. You'll feel less chucking up front and experience a more relaxed ride on long hauls.
Although this pin box can tow up to 19,000 lbs, the internal rubber shear spring is optimized for trailers that range from 18,000 lbs +. A rubber spring built for 19,000 lbs trailers would be too stiff to provide any cushion for an 18,000 lb trailer, while a rubber spring built for 18,000 trailers would be too flexible for a 19,000 lbs trailer. To get the best results from this cushioned pin box, the sweet spot is a trailer in the 18,000 lbs + range.
With GooseTech, hooking up happens fast. As you lower your trailer onto the gooseneck ball, the spring-loaded coupler clicks into place and locks down tight, so you don't have to latch it by hand or wonder if it's secure. Once you're connected, climb in to attach your safety chains (sold separately) for that extra peace of mind before you head out. When it's time to unhook, reach into your truck bed with the included remote handle to pull the release handle. And when you're parked for the night, use the built-in lock hole to secure your trailer and sleep easy.

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this MORryde Gooseneck 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box. Now, when your 5th wheel isn't hooked up, your truck doesn't have to sit idle. It can still get things done when you use this gooseneck pin box, This cushioned 5th wheel to gooseneck pin box is going to let you switch from towing to hauling with ease by replacing your Lippert 1116 5th Wheel Pin Box. This is going to connect directly to your two and 5/16th inch gooseneck ball in the bed of your truck.
So because of that, you can forget about the bulky 5th wheel hitch that takes up so much space in the bed of your truck. And once your trailer is parked and disconnected, you're gonna be able to carry whatever else you want or haul whatever you want in the bed of your truck because you don't have that 5th wheel hitch sitting in the bed of your truck taking up all that valuable space. And when you use this, you're gonna notice a smoother ride as well. This has an internal rubber shear spring that's gonna help absorb bumps and road shock. So that's gonna help cut down on that annoying chucking feeling that often comes with towing.
And this is built tough with a powder coated steel construction. So this is going to be ideal for 5th wheels rated 18,000 to 19,000 pounds. And this is gonna be a pretty straightforward install. It does include the hardware that you need to get this installed in place, so no extra parts are required. But I do wanna let you know that this does weigh right at about 175 pounds.
So it is heavy. I needed two other people to help me get this lifted safely onto my table. So I tell you that just so you're sure that you have enough support to lift this into place so you can get this installed safely. Hookups are gonna be very simple as well. Let me give you another angled view here just so you have a better view of the coupler.
This coupler latches automatically to your two and 5/16th inch ball. This is actually a Demco EZ Latch coupler, so they're well known for making couplers, you don't have to open it first, it'll just drop right on to that ball and connect easily every time. And then when you're ready to uncouple, you're just going to open the latch and then lift this off the ball. And that's how simple this is going to be. Now another added benefit is this does include this remote release handle right here, and lemme come around here just to give you a brief demonstration. So the reason this handle is handy, is because you won't have to climb into the bed of your truck. You can just, from the outside of the bed of your truck, use this handle and then you'll just pull that coupler, the latch, all the way open and then that'll allow you to disengage from your ball. So that's a nice added feature. And if you notice here, we do have a spot for safety chains. It's this cross on this side, and then we have it on the other side as well. So I do recommend safety chains if you don't already have them. So if you are looking for a good set, I would recommend what you see there on your screen. You can just take that a part number, pop it in the search field or our website. That will take you to that chain and you can add that to your order. Now, one final thing I wanted to mention is if you're not sure which pin box you actually have, there are a couple ways in which you can figure it out. On this product page a little bit lower, we do have a link to an article that we put together for you entitled "Four Steps to Choosing Your 5th Wheel Pin Box." So you can click that link and go over that article and that's gonna be able to help you determine which pin box you actually have if you don't know. But if you happen to have any other questions, whether it's about this or anything else that we carry, or if you need further assistance in determining the type of pin box that you currently have, don't hesitate to reach out 'cause we do wanna make sure that you're getting exactly what you need. Well, again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
After years of trying different hitch setups, the MoRyde GooseTech has become my favorite towing system yet. We’ve towed over 1,200 miles with it, and it’s been smooth, quiet, and completely maintenance-free , no airbags to refill, no grease fittings to mess with, and a super simple hookup process. Plus, when I unhook, I get my entire truck bed back. It feels like MorRyde took everything I loved about their rubber pin box and made it even better. I couldn’t be happier with how it tows.
Looking forward to seeing how this hitch works out. One thing that was wrong was the quantity of bolts that came with the hitch. There were 10 bolts, but the existing hitch had 12 bolts. The instruction manual reflects 10 bolts also.

I am glad you are looking forward to towing with this! Chances are the required torque specs are different then the original and different hardware is used so I would not be concerned with the different amount of bolts. What kind of trailer did you install this on?
