Which 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter Will Work on 2005 Keystone Montana 2955RL?

Looking at the Gen-y95GR and the MORryde Goosetech 5th wheel to gooseneck units, Im pulling a 2005 Keystone Montana 2955RL with a 2024 Chevrolet 3500 CCSB and have conserns about my trailer being level. Your thoughts please.

Hey Brian,
You can definitely use either the MORryde # MR37MV or the Gen-Y # GY95GR to tow your 2005 Keystone Montana 2955RL with a gooseneck hitch in your 2024 Chevy 3500, but the height of the hitch is going to be the determining factor of if your trailer will sit level once the adapter is installed.
The Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box - Lippert 1621/1621HD - 30K GTW - 6.5K TW # GY95GR sits at 21.153" tall from the top bolt to the center of the ball coupler. I've attached a photo of this below. I don't have the exact same dimension from MORryde, but the MORryde GooseTech 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box for 11.5K to 14K Trailers w/ Lippert 1621 # MR37MV comes in at 25.110" tall from the top of the mounting plate to the bottom of the coupler.
We have these on display in our customer service center here in Missouri and I went to measure them. The floor-to-coupler measurement on the Gen-Y adapter was exactly 22" while the floor-to-coupler measurement on the # MR37MV was exactly 24", so it'll sit slightly lower. Either height will work for your trailer, but it comes down to which measurement you need from your truck bed for which would be level once attached. To measure, attach your trailer and measure from the truck bed to the bolt holes and mounting plate on your trailer and you'll be able to tell which would be closer for your setup.

Morryde suggests starting where the previous pin box was mounted. Which is what I did. I ended up dropping it down a couple of holes on the frame mount for better bed rail clearance, which makes me slightly nose up. The most important thing is to try and have a level area to do the install to make checking easier. Wait until you are sure of the placement before torquing it down. Also keep in mind the ball you choose also factors into your measurements. I went with the B&W, which sits a little higher. Overall I am glad I made the change to get the 5th wheel hitch out of the bed. Also, the low maintenance was a big factor for me. It does soften the chucking, but don't expect it to totally element it, as some "influencers" have suggested. You are still dealing with physics.
