No bulky box sticking out under the steering wheel here. The main unit mounts out of sight beneath the dash, so it doesn’t interfere with airbag zones or your knees. At just 3-3/8" long x 3" wide x 7/8" thick, it’s small enough to tuck away almost anywhere. Once it’s mounted, all your adjustments happen through your phone—nothing extra on the dash.
Everything happens from the OneControl app on your smartphone. You can set max braking output, tweak braking sensitivity, and hit the manual override right on screen. It connects via Bluetooth in about five seconds and stays linked even if you lose cell data. If Bluetooth ever drops, braking continues safely using the last saved settings. The app works with Apple 5.0 and newer or Android 4.3 and newer systems.
The internal 3-axis accelerometer reads how hard you’re braking and matches that force on your trailer brakes. Hard stop or gentle slowdown—it moves in sync so there’s no tugging or lurching. It supports trailers with 1 to 4 axles (8 brake assemblies) and works with electric trailer brakes for smooth, even braking across your setup.
Installation is straightforward—just plug the included custom harness into your factory tow port and connect it to the Echo module. It includes adhesive backing and zip ties for easy mounting anywhere under the dash. Once connected, plug in your trailer’s 7-way, let it calibrate for a few seconds until the LED turns green, and you’re ready to tow.
If you tow more than one trailer, you’ll love being able to store multiple profiles in the app. Each trailer’s brake output and sensitivity settings can be saved and recalled instantly—no need to recalibrate every time you swap rigs. Just swipe to your saved setup, hook up, and go.

Still 5 stars, lots of trips including a long tow of over 5000 miles. Consistently worked flawlessly. Mild annoyance that they changed the app but once I learned how the new app worked it continues to function flawlessly.

I reached out to Curt about the problems with the new app. They advised that the new app runs the same as the old app it has to run in the foreground unless they are using the button which is the same as the old app. They wanted to know if you were having trouble getting past that screen. Which type of cell phone do you have and which IOS are you using?
