Today we're going to be taking a look at the Performance Tools 7-Piece Bearing Race and Seal Driver Kit. Part number is PTW83020. Now here you'll see what our kit's going to look like. We're going to have a nice handle here, aluminum so it's going to be lightweight, easy to handle with the grooves in there. It won't get too slick once our hands are full of grease. It gives us a nice area to drive that seal or that race down into place.
Also works good for bearings that already have the race on the outside. The way it's going to work is pretty simple. Just going to pick the size that matches. Now if we're driving in a race, we want our beveled portion to be down, so that fits into that race. Then we simply just take our bolt, thread that on the end to hold it in place. Now if, on the other hand, maybe we're doing a seal, or we're doing a contained bearing, we want to use this flat side.
It's going to give us a nice, even surface, it's going to protect our seal from any kind of damage or our bearing from any kind of damage, or our bearing from any kind of damage. Put that right on, and we can drive that in as well. Now we've got six very common sizes and each of our adapters here are going to be two piece. We've got the flat side, and we've also got the narrower side for our race. Now starting at the smallest, this is going to be a 1.565 inch diameter piece. We've got a 1.75 inch diameter, a 1.965 diameter, a 2.325 diameter, a 2.47 diameter and a 2.555 inch diameter, so this is going to cover most of our common sizes, and it's going to give us a great solution for getting rid of that old wooden block, or the things like that we use to use and mess up seals or races here and there.

For many years I used various sockets and pipes to drive bearing races and seals. When I ordered my replacement bearing kits I also ordered this tool set. High quality, like everything I have ordered from etrailer, these tools are super. I have been in the auto industry for over 50 years and I hate that I waited so long to put them in one of my tool boxes. Races go in easily, seals drive in square and right without fooling around with alignment.
Didn't really work for me as the sizing didn't line up with what I needed. I ended up using the old races to seat the new ones which is probably your best bet anyway.
Perfect replacement
I ordered several products, and as always, they were delivered in a very timely fashion. I haven't had a chance to use the tools yet, but they are high quality.
Love this product!! I was packing my bearings for the first time and wanted to have the right tools. This tool was perfect for re-installing the grease seals. I installed 4 of them with this tool and each one was perfect. I think this tool will also work perfect when I change the races (however I did not do that at this time). You guys are great!!
I am so glad I purchased this installation tool. I don't change bearings often but I knew replacing the races would be challenging and this tool made it so easy. I highly recommend it. Works well for replacing the seal too.

Being an "Old School" retired auto repair tech I had always been able to install seals and bearing seats using whatever seemed to work at the time. I have found that in recent years it seems to be harder to do (my age showing I guess). I bought this set after screwing up a seal and having to reorder and redo it. It is a breeze to use and I don't really know how I ever did it before. I know it sure took me longer going Old School!

Perfect set for putting the races and seals back in the hub!
Too small in size , was suggested by the site when I was purchasing something else. Bad suggestion
Brake drums were exactly what I ordered. etrailer was amazing, I ordered on a Sunday afternoon around 5:00 PM and within about 30 minutes I received a call form them with a couple of questions about my order and by around 8:00 PM I had received an email that my order was shipped. All my parts showed up by Wednesday in perfect condition. I installed them all on Friday afternoon, everything was a perfect fit. Now my 20 year old trailer is like new and ready for the trip Im about to take it on across country.

excellent tool to have if you want to make the job of pressing in races and seals easy and complete. When the race seats on the shoulder the sound of this tool when it's hit with the hammer changes and that gives me confidence that I've done the job right. As cheap as it is I highly recommend this to anyone even if they do one installation. I did four and was very happy that I spent the money to get this tool

No problems with this tool!! I used the tool four more times, for a total of eight times since I bought it one year ago. As an engineer who designed machinery and tools I believe this tool will last decades if it is not abused. I wish I had bought this tool 30 years ago.
I replaced the wheel bearings on an Airstream Travel Trailer. I didn't realize that installing the new bearing races would require some careful force. Rather than risk damaging the races by tapping them in with a punch I purchased the 7-Piece Installation Set for Bearings, Races, and Seals. What a great tool. I selected the correct size, placed the bearing race in the hub and two firm taps later the race was installed. I then flipped the installer around and used it to install the grease seal. This tool eliminates trying to find the correct size of pipe or trying to tap the races and seals in with a punch and potentially damaging them. The Installation Set is a time saver and will help ensure a good installation.
No complaint with the product - it worked well on my smaller bearing races. However it did not fit my larger bearing races. The etrailer.com web site recommended this tool when I bought my bearings so it is disappointing that they didn't recommend the larger kit that would have worked with all of the bearings I purchased.
This tool makes setting bearing races and grease seals super easy with zero chance of damaging the part.
The tool will not install all of the races and seals that etrailer sells. I ended up renting the correct tool for a parts store. Much less expensive option for a rarely used item.

Perfect! For a while I struggled with “making do” with a punch or a big socket. Using these makes replacing bearings way easier and faster. I wish I’d bought this years ago.
These worked great for our pressing the races in on our jet ski but didn't have the exact right size to press in the races on the Dexter 7000# axles on our equipment trailer. It required one that fell between the two largest ones in this kit.

Ordered DL21792 bearing and seal kit for BT8 spindles on my ecolight kayak trailer. Very fast delivery,2 days from ordering to delivery and price was better than at our local parts house. In past I have ordered similar kits for my bass boat trailer and have never had a issue with order delivery or product. I did order the installation tool for the bearings, races and seals just to save some grief using punches and wooden blocks for removal and installation of these items. I will order from etrailer again should I need any other trailer parts for my bass boat trailer, ecolight or other farm trailers I own.
I don't know if the product is good or not. I purchased the product to facilitate installation of wheel bearings on an RV. The largest sized piece was way too small for what I needed, so I'm unable to use.
