Ellen: Hey, everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com, and today we're going to be taking a look at the Peterson oval mounting bracket. This is going to be for your tail lights to mount them up to your trailer. So this gives you a nice L-shaped bracket there so you can mount this portion up to your trailer, maybe the fender or a portion of the frame at the back, and then have your light securely attached to this portion at the bottom. There's several holes here that we can mount our light to to make sure that it's nice and stable inside there, and then there's also several holes at the top so we can mount that to our trailer. This works with the Peterson oval lights. You can find those here at etrailer.com using part number 421KRUS.
That's going to come with the light for your stop, turn, and tail lights, as well as a grommet and the wiring plug for that, so fairly complete kit there. That is sold separately, again, here at etrailer.com.And now let's talk about measurements. So from side to side, this bracket is about eight and a quarter inch long from edge to edge. From the top to the bottom of this bracket's about four inches long or four inches wide. The opening here in the middle where our light actually sits, that's about six and three quarters inches by about two and a half.
Turn my ruler there. You can actually see that. So two and a half by about six and three quarter. The flange up at the top is about about one and five eighths inches wide. It's also going to measure eight and a quarter just like the rest of our bracket at the bottom.
This is about an eighth-inch-thick steel with a nice black powder coat finish so we don't have to worry about any rusting or corrosion. The distance between the mounting holes on the front of the bracket are about four inches apart this way, center to center, and then about three inches apart center to center going this way. Up at the top, our two larger holes are about six and a quarter inches apart center to center. The two holes in the middle are about an inch and a quarter. The diameter of those larger holes is just about three eighths of an inch, and the smaller holes are about a quarter inch. And that's going to do it for our look at the Peterson oval mounting bracket for tail lights..
