Trailer Replacement Light for a Model J-65 Tail Lamp

Question:

I have a trailer tail lamp on a dump trailer that has the following DOT SAE IPRST on the top and Model J-65 on the bottom of the red lens. It is approximately 6 1/2inch by 2 1/8 and has a 3 prong female plug in back. Mounts with a rubber grommet in a flat steel flange. It is 10 diodes I need a replacement light.

I have a couple of options for replacement lights. The larger one is going to be an 1/8 of an inch off of your Model J-65 tail lamp. It is the Optronics Trailer Tail Light item # ST70RB you were looking at. This light is 6-1/2" x 2-1/4" and has a 3 prong plug. I have linked a diagram below that shows the dimensions of this light.

We do have a slightly smaller light that is 6-1/2" wide by 2-5/16" tall it is the Miro-Flex LED Trailer Tail Light - Stop, Tail, Turn - Submersible - 12 Diodes - Oval - Red Lens item # STL22RB. You may need a rubber grommet to install this light. If so you will want the PVC Grommet for 6-1/2" Oval Trailer Tail Lights item # a70gb.
