Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this replacement step control module with the separate brake control for your Lippert tread light powered RV steps. Now, this step control module, it'll control the operation of your powered steps on your RV, and this part here is designed to replace the step control module on the Lippert components Happy Jack tread light RV steps. Works on the steps part number LC353542, LC353543, LC353620 and the LC353621. Now this does replace the Forest River part number of C01280583.

Now the mounting hardware to install this is not included but that should do it for the review on this replacement step control module with the separate brake control for the Lippert tread light powered RV steps.

Module was a direct replacement and worked excellent so far
Shipping was a different issue as it somehow was shipped to California from Missouri before coming to Indiana and arrived almost a week late. I had just enough time to install before leaving for a month long trip in the morning. All good though. Step is working as it’s supposed to.

Does the Brake Control Motor Come with the Replacement Step Control Module for Lippert Tread Steps?
Hello Glen, The Replacement Step Control Module for Lippert Tread Lite Powered RV Steps # LC334850 is a replacement control module specifically designed for Lippert Tread Lite electric RV steps. There is no “brake control motor” in the step system. Can you please send me a picture of the part you are referring to by responding directly to the email you receive? Which Control Modules Replace 334850 for Lippert Tread Lite Steps
The Replacement Step Control Module # LC334850 is specifically designed for the Tread Lite steps. I'm not sure that necessarily makes it special but it does mean it is the only solution to replace your current 334850. I wish I could tell you the Kwikee control modules would work but they have different connections/programming and are not compatible.

Troubleshooting Control Module and Motor for a Lippert Tread Lite RV Step
The best way to test this out is by applying 12V power to the motor directly so you can see if it operates correctly outside of the control module (see attached). If everything works properly when you've bypassed the control module then you'll need to replace that with part # LC334850, otherwise the issue would be the motor which you can replace with part # LC183058.

Troubleshooting Lippert Tread Lite Powered RV Steps Not Extending Or Retracting
To begin you will want to begin testing the different circuits of the Step Control Module # LC334850. The brown wire goes to the door switch to tell the steps when to open and close. The yellow wire runs to an ignition switch so that the steps know to retract when the ignition is on and the door closes regardless if it has been switched to remain open. Troubleshooting Tread Lite Steps Won't Extend or Retract
Typically when you hear the clicking sound it is the motor # LC183058 or possibly the control module # LC334850. Since you have replaced these and the sensor # LC301694 the only other possibility is the wiring. Check your ground and make sure it is secure and undamaged. If it isn't the ground it is the power which you can check with a circuit tester like # PTW2993. It is possible there is a loose connection or the wire is damaged and needs to be repaired/replaced.

Steps Will Not Retract On A 2022 Mirada 37' RV And Motor Makes Clicking Noice
Hello Bill, thanks for reaching out. The issue you are describing sounds like a problem with the motor. Generally when you get that clicking noise from the motor like it is trying to work but wont work it means you motor is going bad and will need to be replaced. There should be a sticker on your motor with a part number or model number. Go ahead and post that number in the comments below and I am happy to recommend a replacement.
