• Difference Between Controllers for Lippert Steps
  You're right, they do operate similarly, so the difference between controllers is the model of steps they work with. For example, part # LC379146 is for "pre-IMGL" step units that were manufactured from 1999 to 2005 while part # LC379604 is for Kwikee 37 and 42 Series. I've added a link to each of our step controls for you to check out or if you let me know what model number or series Kwikee steps you have I'd be happy to try and find the right control for you.

  I checked with Lippert and the part number you have of 1510000140 corresponds with the Revolution Kwikee step and the replacement control module you need then is the part # LC363985.

  The harness difference you found is because the control unit you should have ordered looks to be the # LC379604 which fits the newer versions of the step. Most likely the steps of your RV were replaced with a kit made after 2005.

  If your Kwikee Series 42 powered steps were made before 2005 the replacement control module is the part # LC379146 whereas if they were made after that you'd need the part # LC379604. If the steps were original equipment for your 1998 Country Coach you'd have a pre-IMGL due to the age. But if they were an add-on from a later date it could require the new setup. There should be a year listed on the steps.

• Replacement Steps for Kwikee 42 Series
  I may have a solution for you depending on which series of steps you have but I am sorry they do not just offer a lower step for the Kwikee's. The part number you sent me is for the control model item # LC379604 and it only works in 37 and 42 series steps. If you have the 42 series you can replace it with the Replacement Steps item # LC372779. This is the only replacement option for steps we have for the 42 series. We do not have a replacement for the 37 series.

  If your Kwikee Series 42 powered steps were made before 2005 the replacement control module is the part # LC379146 whereas if they were made after that you'd need the part # LC379604. Since your Rambler is a 2006 model you most likely have a 2005 made module. If you check out the module on your steps and compare it to the two product pictures for the modules I mentioned you should be able to easily identify what you have.

  Yes, for just a control module for your Lippert or Stromberg Carlson electric coach step you can use part # LC379606 to replace part 909513. Due to the age of your original step my Lippert contact noted that in some cases older steps may not function with this substitute part, but it is the only available option (for just a control module) apart from replacing the entire step assembly. If you prefer to consider a whole new step unit those are linked for your reference.
