Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this TecNiq driver's side contour eight function box style taillight. So this is gonna cover everything that you expect from a full rear trailer taillight. As you can see, I do have this plugged into my power supply already and I have the taillight function currently on, but I'm gonna go ahead and turn my studio lights off here and walk through the other functions. So taillight, brake light, and then turn signal. And then I'm just gonna back out here real quick just so you can see what this looks like from a distance.
And I'm gonna go ahead and hit that brake light again and then back to taillight and then blinker. And then I'm gonna turn my studio lights on here and go over the rest of the light here. So we do have a reflection here on the side and this can also act as a side marker light 'cause you can still see that. And then this also can act as a rear clearance light, a rear reflection here, a reflector rather that you can see here on the bottom. And then of course we have our license plate light.
It's gonna shine down on your license plate obviously below. So stop, tail, turn, side marker, side reflector, and then acts as a rear clearance, rear reflector, license plate light. So it's pretty much, it has quite a bit of functionality to it. And so this is sealed for marine use. So it's waterproof, it's dust proof, it's going to be fully submersible.
And this is also, I believe the rating on this is IP68, and this is gonna be ready for rough roads. It's hard plastic housing with the lens. So it's gonna do a great job I believe, of resisting cracks, chips, and impact damage. Let me pull out a ruler here, give you some measurements so you have a good idea of the size. So looking at the overall length, we're sitting right at seven and a half inches.
The overall height about three and a half inches. And the depth, pretty close to three inches it looks like. So this is gonna fit your standard grommet mount. It's DOT compliant, and it's gonna meet the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards 108 for both narrow and wide vehicle applications. And so again, this is gonna be for the driver's side, but if you're also looking for the passenger side, on your screen, I am including the model number there for that. You can just take that model number and pop it in the search field of our website and that will take you to the passenger side light. You can add that to your order as well. I received the taillight in a timely manner. It fit on the trailer like the old one. Great service.
Customer service was great. Haven’t installed the light yet, but appears to be good quality.
The lights look really good, however, I can only install the passenger side as the driver side does not include any wires. A pigtail needs to be ordered extra for the driver's side. IF you scroll all the way down on the item page, it states it under the "NOTES". Make sure you order the $[XX] pigtail if you want to wire up the light (driver's side). I spoke with TecNiq and mentioned that it would be a good idea to include the pigtail and adjust the price, or put the "NOTE" right on top where it can be seen.

Right Angle 3-Wire Pigtail for Optronics Trailer Lights - 3-Prong PL-3 Plug - 10" Lead
Fits great on my trailer and almost looks like the original Wesbar light. Does not come with pigtail wiring harness or mounting bolts. They should update the description with that information. I used my old hardware and pigtail.
The drivers side does not come with the Pigtail. A 3-prong pigtail# A47PB is sold separately. Its unfortunate the web description isn't clear about this.
I also found the pigtails don't clip in as tight as my old Wesbar lights of the same design. There doesnt seem to be a lot of options if you want the same style of lights for your ez laoder trailer.
I ordered both driver and passenger side tail lights. It only came with one wire harness. They told me oh well sorry about that!!
