Backing into a tight campsite or making a sharp corner in town is a lot easier when your hitch does the work for you. With 14" of automatic slider travel, the Demco Autoslide moves the hitch head smoothly toward the tailgate whenever you turn at slow speeds, giving your trailer the clearance it needs to avoid hitting the cab. The rack-and-pinion gear system keeps that motion controlled and steady, so there’s no jerking or binding when you maneuver in close quarters.
The premium single-hook jaw completely wraps around the king pin for full 360-degree contact, giving you a tight fit that cuts down on rattle and chucking. A solid 3/4" steel locking bar reinforces that connection and automatically locks when the jaw closes, so you know your trailer is secure before you even pull away. It’s a solid, quiet setup that feels stable mile after mile.
The double-pivot head moves both side to side and front to back to handle bumps and dips without transferring harsh motion into the truck. Three polyurethane dampeners cushion those movements to reduce towing noise and road shock. As soon as the pin box meets the hitch head, it pivots to the right angle for coupling, making hook-ups simple and forgiving even on uneven ground.
The included underbed mounting kit keeps your truck bed clear when you’re not towing. The hitch base drops into four UMS receivers, locks in place with turn handles and safety pins, and lifts out just as easily when you need an open bed. With three height settings—15-1/2", 16-3/4", and 18-1/4"—you can match your trailer’s pin box height for a level towing setup.

Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this underbed rail and installation kit for the Demco Hijacker UMS 5th wheel and gooseneck trailer hitches. Now, this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 2020 and newer Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500 and 3500 HD trucks without the OEM prep package. And on a custom fit part like this, I do like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show if this will work for your application.
Now, many trucks now are coming equipped with the factory installed underbed puck systems in the truck bed to allow you to install a 5th wheel hitch for towing and then easily remove the hitch when you're not towing. Now, if you do not have one of those already installed in your truck bed, this kit will let you have that same underbed mount system for your Demco Hijacker 5th wheel and gooseneck trailer hitches. Wanna pop up an insert. There's the Demco hitch. It'll fit right into this.
Now, the advantage with this underbed mount system is when you're not towing your 5th wheel, you can remove that hitch from your truck bed and still have full access to your truck bed. There's no rails to get in the way. This installation kit is designed for use with the Demco Hijacker underbed series 5th wheel and gooseneck trailer hitches. These underbed rails right here will provide complete access to the truck bed when the hitch is removed. The rails are not exposed.
They're all underneath the bed. And it'll just give you four small mounting holes that'll sit flush with the truck bed. As we mentioned, this is a vehicle specific design, so it does reduce the installation time and requires less drilling than universal systems. Basically, these brackets right here on the sides, these will bolt onto the outside of your truck's frame rails. These crossmembers will sit along the top of the frame rails beneath the bed.
Now, drilling is required for installation. These parts are a steel construction. They have a nice, black powder coat finish to resist corrosion. Now, this does include everything shown here. The frame mounting brackets, the crossmembers, all the installation hardware, even gives you a couple tubes of threadlockers to put on the bolts when you go to install it. And it even comes with four of these cap plugs that you'll insert into the holes in your truck bed to keep those holes protected from any dirt getting into them. Comes with a nice set of instructions that'll describe how this all goes together. But that should do it for the review on the underbed rail and installation kit for the Demco Hijacker UMS 5th wheel and gooseneck trailer hitches..

THE BEST FUNCTIONAL SHORT BED 5th WHEEL HITCH OUT THERE BUT ALSO THE HEAVIEST AND THE MOST DIFFICULT TO REMOVE AND REINSTALL. I HAD TO TAKE IT TO A GARAGE TO REMOVE IT AND AGAIN TO REINSTALL IT. I JUST LEAVE IT IN THE TRUCK BED NOW RATHER THAN FIGHT WITH IT.

Sorry to hear that, Robert. Can I ask why your mechanic is saying these frame brackets are incorrect for your 2024 Silverado 2500? I checked with Demco and they are a fit for your truck. If it's because the instructions say 2020 on them, that is just due to them not being updated because the install is the same for newer trucks as well. If this is the reason your mechanic is saying they are wrong, he is costing you money and I would really find a different mechanic to do the install.

The Demco hijacker 18 K I think is the best hedge out there by far three different height settings and the auto slider part of it is awesome haven’t had an issue at all

good happy with the whole set up.had a small issue that demco remedied swiftly.only other thing is the finish does not seam to last.it is covered when not in use and it chips and rust,s easily
