Made for the off-roader who is always heading into unfamilar terrian, these heavy-duty, reinforced nylon boards have alloy teeth that provide a stronger tire grip than typical recovery teeth. And the teeth are replaceable if they happen to break.
Features:
Specs:
Note: Not recommended for normal highway tires since the tread is too narrow and shallow to properly engage with the traction teeth.

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at these MAXTRAX XTREME Recovery Boards. Now, these two olive drab in color, heavy duty recovery boards are going to provide faster traction when your tires are bogged down in snow, slush, sludge, sand, or mud. And these rows of anodized alloy traction teeth are going to give you a surface that your tires can grip onto. The alloy construction of these teeth create faster, more secure tread engagement.
And they're anodized to help prevent corrosion in extreme environments. Now, I mentioned this, the color is identified as olive drab. This color actually matches the US Army Humvees, and this was by request to MAXTRAX for this color. Now, let me go ahead and go over some dimensions here of these boards. I measured them earlier.
Looking at the overall length first, from end to end, we're sitting at just about 45 inches long. The overall width from end to end, we're sitting at about 13 inches wide. And then the overall height at the tallest point from top to bottom, we're sitting at about three inches tall. Now, going in for a front view here, I do wanna show you that these boards can nest on top of each other just like that. So that's a nice feature in that when you're ready to store these, they're not gonna take up a whole lot of space.
And so you can put two of these together and it's going to be nice and compact. And then when you're ready to use these again, you're just going to take one off the bottom one and then you will be ready to go. Now, the UV stabilized fiber reinforced nylon construction makes these boards lightweight and strong. They're light enough to easily haul in and out of your vehicle. Each board weighs about 10 pounds, but they're gonna be heavy duty enough to bear the full weight of your vehicle without breaking.
And again, those anodized alloy teeth are really gonna add to the ruggedness and the heavy duty nature of these boards as well. Now, I do wanna show you on the underside here of one of these boards, each end is capable. has the capacity or the capability of being used as a shovel. You might not be able to see it here, but they do identify that this is the shovel portion, again at either end of the board, to help you remove excess earth to help you get unstuck quicker. So again, another added benefit of these boards. And then looking overhead, again, I wanted to point out that each of these boards have handles along the side, three on each side for a total of six. So the built-in handles are going to help you not only transport these a little bit easier, but they're gonna help you easily retrieve them when you're done using them after getting your vehicle unstuck. These also include these two leashes. And as you can see, they're bright orange in color. And if you are going to be using these boards in terrain where they might easily get buried after you retrieve your vehicle, after you get it unstuck, you can attach a strap or two to one of the boards and when you're done, and if it is buried, you can use a strap to more easily retrieve the board. They're bright orange in color, as you can see, so they're gonna be highly visible. So these leashes are included with these boards. And also I wanted to point out that these boards have these keyhole accessory points to allow you to securely mount the boards. These do have a lifetime warranty from MAXTRAX. And again, if the olive drab color isn't a color that you're necessarily interested in, but you like everything else that you see here, we do offer these boards in additional colors. We also have different types and different sizes of these boards. So take a look at the other offerings that we have here at etrailer.com, and I'm confident you can find the color and the type that's going to best meet the need that you are looking for. Well, that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.

Love the versatility of this product. Light weight, works as a shovel and gets the job done. Bought 3 sets for our fleet and I know there will be minimal of 3 more pair.
Great product. Hope I don't have to use it. Bought them since my 2-wheel drive with street tires doesn't get the traction like a 4WD. Twice, even with locking differential I have not been able to get enough traction due to the light weight of the rear end of the truck when it is not loaded.
Sometimes I do use them to raise the truck a few inches to make it easier to use my creeper, e.g., when changing the oil.
Awesome and heavy duty as advertised!
Overall construction of the product appears to be rugged compared to other recovery boards. I have not had the opportunity to utilize the boards at this time.
An interesting thing happens when you drive into the wilderness alone. You start to realize all the ways you might get stuck and never get back out. I like my family, so I want to make sure I can get home.
Recently I ended up in an icy muddy field where dozens of very capable trucks and Jeeps couldnt get out. The mud was too deep, the snow and ice too slick.
I didn't get stuck, lets not be ridiculous, I drive a monster truck... I spent my day pulling the trucks and Jeeps out.
Pulling a dozen different trucks out helped me see a dozen ways to get stuck. And I decided recovery boards were something I need to add to my vehicle. So I went with these.
It is best to make sure you know how to use recovery gear. So I purposely buried my 4Runner into a huge snow pile. It took some digging to clear the area to get them in place, and a few tries of going back and forth to get through it. I was massively high centered, and pushing a wall of snow and ice. And slipped off the side of the recovery board a couple times.
After about 20 minutes of working at it we got out.
I probably will add 2 more. If I had one on all 4 wheels it would have been much simpler to get out because as one wheel lost grip the other would still have it as the suspension stretched and compressed.
Always new fun things to try and lots to learn!

After a year of use, these things are just super tough! And I mean rock solid. They handle the 10k lbs of my RAM 2500 no prob. I’ve used them to get out of a couple of sticky off road situations. Great product!
