Question:

I don't what to change out my hitch Can the Lippert lc155943 be used with a auto slide hitch or is there no Shock system that can be used with a slide hitch? I know this don't give me anymore length. If i cant get a Shock system with my slide hitch is there a pin box that can replace replace the 1116 to get more distance.

The only cushioned/extended pin box we have that will replace the Lippert 1116 pin box and provide more than 23-1/4" from the rear most bolt holes to the center line of the kingpin is the 5th Airborne Premium 5th Wheel Air Ride King Pin w/ Sidewinder part # RP61412. This pin box has an integrated airbag to decrease chucking/jaring in addition to a rotating turret to increase turning clearance. The distance from the rear most bolt holes to the center line of the kingpin on this pin box is 29-1/2".

In order to use this pin box on your trailer you will also need to use a fixed 5th wheel hitch as sliding 5th wheel hitches are not designed to be used with a Sidewinder pin box. For this I recommend using the Reese 20K 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # RP30928. You will also need to use the Sidewinder Wedge for Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches part # RP44FR.

The Trailair Air Ride 5th Wheel Pin Box part # LC155943 will work with your Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # DM8550022 but as you mentioned will not give you additional turning clearance. The Trailair has both an integrated shock and airbag which will work to reduce chucking and jaring. The reduced chucking and jarring will improve handling and limit strain on truck and trailer. The pin box is made here in the U.S.A. and comes with a 1-year warranty.
