Question:

Does BandW have an auto slide fifth wheel hitch for a 2022 Chevy 2500hd? I am concerned of only having a manual slide in a 6 3/4 bed.

Expert Reply:

B&W currently only has an manually activated slider with their Companion # BWRVK3400-5W or Patriot # BWRVK3270. With these being manual you would need to exit the cab of your 2022 Chevy Silverado and pull the lever to activate the slide on you hitch, complete your turn, and then get back out and relock the hitch back in place.

To avoid the headache of having to exit the truck repeatedly you can instead use the Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider # DM8550022 with the Underbed Rail and Installation Kit for Demco Hijacker UMS 5th Wheel and Gooseneck Trailer Hitches # DR37FR.

The Hijacker automatically slides back as your truck begins to turn. This hitch is also going to give you 14" of clearance, which beats out the 12" a B&W sliding hitch would give you.
