This hitch is rated for 20,000 lbs gross towing weight and a 5,000 lbs vertical load limit to handle big fifth wheel campers with confidence. Its 1" thick dual jaws wrap completely around the king pin for full 360-degree contact, keeping things tight and secure instead of letting the trailer rattle around. Paired with polyurethane bushings in the pivot arms, it helps smooth out bumps and limit chucking so your rig feels stable mile after mile.
The integrated slider gives you up to 12" of fore-and-aft travel to help keep the trailer clear of your cab during tight turns or when backing into a site. When you’re lined up for highway driving, just lock it back in position for normal towing. It’s a manual sliding setup that moves easily and gives you the turning space you need without adding unnecessary complexity.
The cam-action handle makes connecting and disconnecting simple—even when you’re parked on uneven ground. It prevents binding between the truck and trailer so you can release the jaws smoothly without wrestling with a jammed latch. Once closed, secure it with the included pin and clip or add your own 5/16"-diameter padlock for extra peace of mind.
Getting your trailer level matters for handling and tire wear. The pivot arms on this hitch can be mounted in different positions to set the height between 17" and 19" and fine-tune how far forward or back the king pin sits over your bed. It’s a simple way to dial in your setup so your trailer rides level and clears the bed rails properly.
When you’re not towing, this hitch lifts right out of the bed with no rails left behind. The base drops into the factory pucks, locks down with integrated handles, and can be pulled back out just as easily. The head separates from the base so you can move it in smaller pieces instead of one heavy lump, making it much easier to clear your bed when you need full space again.

Yes, the B&W are very heavy! B&W actually designed a lifting device part # BWRVXA3130 that customers attach to a hoist to get it in and out of their truck bed.

I’m still impressed with the hitch. Everything works as it should. It stays in the truck 90 of the time. Easy enough to lift out with a hoist if I need to use the truck for other purposes.

I'm glad you had a lift table to help you out! Half the battle is getting it into the truck bed, a coupler friends, a lift table, or a forklift are necessary to get it situated. You're going to love the Companion once you tow with it!
