Thule is top line and this awning is no exception. Did not have much chance to use it in the last year due to family issues, but plan a big year camping this summer. When installing be sure to mount into structural support of your trailer or RV. I used a stud locator that also finds steel studs and rechecked everything before drilling. These awnings are a heavy and wanted to make it was secure and exactly parallel to the trailer. Worth the extra money for a top line awning and the extra time to install to make sure all was done perfect. etrailer the place to buy!

Thule hideaway awning is a nice piece of equipment. It always works great and looks great. The installation kit is well constructed and was easy to install on my Forest River R-Pod RP178. After a year I am still very happy with the purchase. E-trailer's website was great to work with. Thanks

I've been on the hunt for this awning for over a year as its been out of stock. There are other options out there for the Sprinter van but this one was the best choice for my rack. You do need to purchase the mounting brackets separately, which come with different options for attaching to crossbars amd roof rails. I had some roof rail pucks laying around that I used to attach the brackets too.
This is very versatile and can be set up with the legs on the ground or with the Thule optional brackets(Purchase
separately) that attach the legs to the van..this is great if setting up on a hard surface or if you need to keep your dog on a lead and not get tangled up.the only tricky part for me is that my van is tall so once I get the awning out about 2 ft, I have to hop in the van and get the legs out- no biggie.this is very nicely made and easy to set up take down. Lots of optinal accessories as well

Replaced the Carefree awning on our 2019 Travato with this product. Like the sleeker look of the Thule awning when closed. 4 stars was only because of a missing arm cover (refer to photos). The legs locking mechanism is kinda squirrelly so hoping there’s a fix to tighten those.

We bought a 2019 Forest River R Pod in Sept. 2022 with no awning because the previous said it was broken and he threw it away. I called to cancel an awning that was too short on Nov. 18, 2022 and ordered the 9' 10" awning and Alyssa told me we may not get it until next summer. I received an email over a week later that our awning was shipped, and we received it Dec. 9, 2022. It was very easy to install since the camper already had the Thule bracket on the camper. The weather also cooperated with installing it! These awnings are made in England and Alyssa told me the Thule is having difficulty getting orders done and shipped. I don't know what kind of strings e-trailer pulled but I was very happy we got it in a very timely manner. Very pleased with the quality and excellent service!

I will just email this review to you here. So far the Thule roof mount awning appears to be a 5-Star product.
Just now have it installed. This awning is very nice. It mounts tight to the roof with a foam rubber gasket to eliminate any potential rattles while driving or rain leaking in under the awning when in use. It has a low profile to minimize wind resistance while driving. The adapter kit which secures the Awning to the roof of the ProMaster Van is excellent quality and attaches quickly and securely. However, placing the awning into the adapter brackets is not as simple as the directions indicate. Once you figure out the proper procedure required(which is a bit different than the directions) it all went together nicely.
Here are a couple of pictures. from this morning's installation. Not a very nice day here so the pics are marginal.

Ordering from etrailer has always been effortless. Prices are on point and free shipping doesn't hurt either. The awning went on in an hour using the kit that I also purchased from etrailer. Will return to their site for the other items I will need for my build.

I'm extremely disappointed in customer service at Etrailer. I called regarding an issue with the telescoping hand crank getting stuck in the hole when pulling out or retracting the awning. I was told by Shawnee in customer service to call the manufacture, Thule.

So I ordered the Thule hideaway and received the Thule omnistor. Luckily it fit the same adapters and everything. I think the legs are maybe different between the two and some accessories might not fit but it’s really hard to tell. Wish they would have advertised the product that they shipped when spending $XXXX.

After a ton of research I chose the Hideaway roof rack mount awning for my Ford Transit van conversion project. The awning was easy to mount, (did so in about 1 hour with help of my wife). I mounted my roof rack mounting brackets upside down onto my home-made roof rack and it fits beautifully.

I was going to purchase an ARB awning until I saw the Thule. Perfect size for my 2020 Ford Transit Connect with crank out awning instead of the ARB's hand unroll and roll back up to store. Enclosed casing instead of a zippered bag as well as a quality build overall. The added cost for a quality product was well worth it.

Product was exactly as described and arrived a day earlier than scheduled! Product is perfectly fine and functions exactly as expected. However after installing and trying it out, I wish I had spent a bit extra for a motorized awning. I was able to instal by myself as a 5’3” lady, but it was not easy to lift up on top of my 9’ van by myself. Know that you should most definitely have a second or third person to assist in installation and lifting, depending on your abilities. I often camp solo and can foresee setting up awning by myself may also pose some challenges, but is not impossible to do alone. Overall, great product, great service, and a happy addition to my Promaster DIY van build. Looking forward to having the extra shaded living space right outside my door.

You'll need to be able to access the area behind the top rail where the awning will be install to secure it, but if you can do that then there's no reason why the HideAway # TH490018 won't work for you.

The Thule awning is still working great, have not used it much but it had never failed us. Easy to set up and retract. It is a great awning, etrailer is the place to buy it.
