I have a solution for you, but the B&W Companion OEM 5th wheel Hitch, # BWRVK3300, is not recommend to be used with the short bed of the F-250.

I recommend the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider, # BWRVK3370. This hitch will fit the factory rail kit in the bed of your F-250. This Companion hitch is a slider hitch which will allow to make sharp turns with your short bed truck with out damaging your trailer or truck.

I have a 2017 short bed F250 with factory puck system as well. The rig that I'm buying has the Morryde rotating pin box which puts the pivot point away from the cab. With this scenario, I shouldn't need the sliding hitch?

You're exactly right. A pivoting pin box provides all the clearance you need so a fixed hitch will work well. The Companion # BWRVK3300 mentioned above is an excellent option.
