Updated 09/03/2025 | Published 08/10/2025

Question:

How many boxes does the BandW Companion OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w Slider for Ford Towing Prep Package - Part Number: BWRVK3370 come shipped in and what is the weight of each box? I ask because Ill be handling this myself from receipt thru install without help and only a hand truck and no lifting equipment.

Hello Ron,

Going to be installing it yourself, I can see why you would want to know about the weight. I would make sure to eat a bowl of Wheaties the day of.

First off, great choice with going with the B&W, definitely always my go to brand. The B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w Slider for Ford Towing Prep Package - Dual Jaw - 20K # BWRVK3370 is too heavy to ship UPS so it will be delivered by Freight Truck on a pallet. The base weighs 192 pounds, and the head weighs 70 pounds.

If you had a hoist, you could use the B&W 5th Wheel Lifting Device for Companion and Patriot Hitches # BWRVXA3130 in the jaws then lift it into the truck.

You will need to be there to sign for the freight order when it is delivered, maybe you will have a nice driver that can help get the base in the back of the bed, sometime a tip helps =)

What kind of 5th wheel are you going to be towing? Just getting started in the 5th wheel world, or just getting a new hitch?

Hey Ron, How did the installation go with the B&W Companion hitch? Did you find a way to manage the weight on your own, or did the freight driver lend a hand? I'm curious because your experience could be really helpful for others planning a similar setup.

@KateF Hi Kate, I Haven't acquired a hitch yet. Don't know when I will be able to. Thanks for the weight and shipping info though.
