Switching From Reese Sidewinder To Sliding 5th Wheel In 2020 Ford F-250 With OEM Prep

Jim, I bought the 18K B&W slider hitch last year. I have a 2016 F350 Crew Cab short bed. I do not have factory pucks so I am unable to help out there. However, as far as the hitch goes it is a great hitch. You don’t need to be perfectly lined up to hitch and unhitch. The entire experience with this hitch is amazingly easy to use. The slider is easy to use. You pull the lever, chock your trailer wheels or hold your brake controller on brake and just drift your truck forward and it slides in place and latches. Very little effort on my part. When you want to slide in back into towing position you pull the slider latch back and back your truck up and again it latches and locks in place with little effort on my part. As far as towing down the road it is solid. You have the ability to adjust your hitch height at three different positions and this is also easy to do. We have traveled up and down the east coast and have not had one single problem with this hitch. The previous hitch I had was a Reese 18K slider and it was hard to use. I am glad I switched.

Jim I own a 2020 F-250 Short bed. As you know the "short bed" in that F-250 is longer than most "short beds" at 6'9". Mine is the crew cab, meaning 4 full size doors. Mine does NOT have the puck system so I really cant help ypou there. The expert reply addresses that. I will say I have bought several items from these people and they are absolutly awesome...the best in my opinion!! I will say with the big cab neither can I see the pin on the trailer or the hitch. I also heve threatened to get a back uo camera. Also know in the initial set up of the hitch there are differant ways to set the height AND just as important pin position in relation to the rear axel. I have mine set so that the trailer pin is a[[rox 1" forward of truck rear axel, in my circunstance it is perfect! I'm a former 18wheeler operator and am a nut on weight distribution! In my case tith the current set up I'm squating only maybe 2" at the rear axel. Keep in mind this slider hitch in meant to be in full forward position while on the highway. You can slide it back in in a tight spot. My trailer is a 2021 CAMEO 36'. When fullt forward I can make a 90 degree turn with plenty oc cab clearance. As far as "loving" material things I don't but come as close as possible with this hitch. I will add I also am mable to install and take the hitch out of the truck alone. Hi Jim I have the Bw slider hitch works great . I also have a back up camera which I don't use I have a short bed F250 .I have a tool box in the back of my truck which I modified to clear thr hitch ,I normally hook up my trailer with the slider towards the tail gate so the pin handle is able to open up ,that extra foot let's you see the hitch plate and makes it easy to pin in the trailer.As for clearance on the short bed I can make u turns with no problems have like 4 inches of clearance, hope this helps
