Trailer Hitch Installation - 2017 Nissan Rogue - Curt

Today on our 2017 Nissan Rogue, we'll be having a look at and installing the Curt Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number C13204. The only part visible of our hitch is the actual Class III 2" receiver itself and our safety chain loops that are welded onto the bottom of it. The rest of it is hidden behind our fascia. Now, our safety chain loops are a tubular steel design. It's welded to the bottom of the receiver. We have a fairly large opening, so we shouldn't have much problem, if any at all, hooking the hooks of our safety chains from our trailer onto them. On the side of our receiver, you'll find our industry standard 5/8" diameter hitch pinhole to secure any of our hitch-mounted accessories. At the end of our receiver we have this nice collar that's welded on to help reinforce the hitch and give it a nice finished look underneath our vehicle. This hitch features a 525-pound max gross tongue weight rating, which is the amount forcing down, and a 3,500-pound max gross trailer weight rating, which is the amount you can pull.

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2017 Nissan Rogue - Curt

Today, on our 2017 Nissan Rogue, we'll be having a look at and installing the Curt class II 1-1/4" trailer hitch receiver, part number C12122. Our hitch is completely hidden behind our fascia. The only part you see hanging down is the class II 1-1/4" receiver itself. Our safety chain loops are rolled tubular steel design, so we shouldn't have much problem with any at all using most safety chain loops on them. On the side of our receiver, we'll find our industry standard 1/2" diameter hitch pin hole. We have this nice welded-on collar here to add a little bit more strength to the end of our receiver and to give it a nice finished look on our vehicle. This hitch features a 350-pound max tongue weight rating, which is the amount forcing down, and a 3500-pound max gross trailer weight rating, which is the amount it can pull. You'll want to consult with the owner's manual of your Nissan Rogue and not exceed the limits of the vehicle or the hitch itself.

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2017 Nissan Rogue - Draw-Tite

Today on our 2017 Nissan Rogue, we'll be having a look at and installing the Draw-Tite class two trailer hitch receiver, part number 36542. Our hitch is completely hidden up behind the fascia, the only part that's visible is the class two 1.25" receiver itself with our safety chain loops on the bottom. The hitch is also tucked up behind the fascia far enough that it doesn't stick out past it so when we're loading cargo into our hatch area we don't have to worry about running our shin or knee into the receiver. Our safety chain loops here are a round, tubular steel design. We got a fairly large size opening here so we shouldn't have any problems hooking on any of our safety chain hooks onto them from our trailers. On the side, we'll have our industry standard half inch diameter hitch pin hole to secure any of our hitch mounted accessories that we may have. This hitch features a 300 pound max tongue weight rating, which is the amount forcing down, and a 3500 pound max gross trailer weight rating, which is the amount it can pull. You want to consult with the owners manual of your Rogue and not exceed the capabilities of the vehicle or the hitch itself. Now for a few measurements to better assist you in choosing any hitch mounted accessory you may need, such as a ball mount, bike rack or cargo carrier.

This is what our hitch looks like fully installed, and as you can see, it's not going to add a whole lot to the appearance of the vehicle. The crosstube is actually tucked up underneath the bumper, and all you're really going to see is the receiver tube. This has a 2" x 2" receiver tube and has a nice reinforced rolled collar for a nice look. It's going to use a standard 5/8 pin and clip, which is not included, but you can pick one up on our website using part number PC3. Now, the second smaller hole in the front is for the J-pin stabilization device, which you can also pick up on our website, and that's for any accessories that don't have their own anti-rattle device built in. The safety loops are nice. There's plenty of room to attach any hooks and they're made out of a rolled stock steel, and as you can see, you're not going to have to worry about any interference getting your hooks on or off.

This hitch has a concealed cross tube and a square tube design that has a gloss black powder coat finish. If you will be towing with this vehicle, I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer...

  • How do Plastic Pins of Lower Panel on 2016 Nissan Rogue Remove to Install Trailer Hitch
  • The plastic connectors that are used to hold the lower panel on your 2016 Nissan Rogue that need to come off to remove it are pretty easy to remove. Basically you use a slot screwdriver to lift up on the center section of the pin. Once that is done the whole thing slides out of the mounting hole. All you need is a semi-thin slot screwdriver to get the center piece lifted. They are pretty easy to install/remove.

  • Air Helper Spring, Roof Rack, Cargo Box and Trailer Hitch Fit for 2016 Nissan Rogue
  • According to Firestone, the fit of their Coil-Rite air spring kit, part # F4175 has not yet been determined for the 2016 Rogue. If you could measure the inside diameter and height of your rear coil springs and reply to me with those dimensions, Firestone can determine if the # F4175 will fit. To install a roof mounted cargo box, you'd first need a roof rack. Rhino-Rack offers an aerodynamic yet reasonably priced option that would consist of the following parts: 49 inch Vortex Aero...

  • Bike Rack Recommendation for 2016 Nissan Rogue with Spoiler
  • I don't know which Thule rack you have, but for your 2016 Nissan Rogue with the spoiler Thule doesn't list any of their trunk racks as a confirmed fit so I wouldn't recommend you install the rack. I checked them all and the fit notes all say that if equipped with a spoiler it's listed as a "no fit". I know you are leaving on your trip "today" so this may get to you too late, but your best option is a hitch bike rack. You would need a hitch installed like the Draw Tite part # 75902 which...

  • Why Would Holes of Hitch for 2016 Nissan Rogue Not Match Up Perfectly
  • Sometimes hitches can get slightly bent during shipping and this can be fixed by bending the hitch back into place as long as the hitch only has a slight bend to it. If yours isn't lining up I can almost guarantee that is what happened. Some people will use open steps for leverage, vices and even car jacks to apply controlled force to bend the hitch back. You will want to look for flaking paint and physical stress marks on the hitch before and after you attempt to bend the hitch back....

  • Bike Rack Solution for 2016 Nissan Rogue that Doesn't Require Touching Rear Spoiler
  • I have a better solution for your 2016 Nissan Rogue, but there aren't any trunk racks for your vehicle that aren't going to contact the rear spoiler. Instead you would want a hitch mounted rack option as that will give you a much more secure mount for the rack and also it doesn't touch the vehicle's painted surfaces. The most popular bike rack we carry that has been confirmed to fit this vehicle is the Thule Roadway 2 part # TH912XTR. We asked our demo and install guys to name their...

  • 2 Inch Trailer Hitch for a 2016 Nissan Rogue
  • I would recommend the Draw-Tite Class III Max Frame Receiver Hitch, # 75902, for your 2016 Nissan Rogue. It will serve your needs for a bike rack as well as your light weight motorcycle trailer. The approximate measurements are 5 inches to center of pin hole from the outermost part of the rear bumper and 14 1/4 inches from the ground to the top inside portion of the receiver, so this should maintain the fairly concealed appearance you are looking for. I have attached a best trailer hitch...

  • Trailer Hitch Availability for 2016 Nissan Rogue
  • We have Class III and Class II hitches available for your 2016 Nissan Rogue. For a Class III which has a 2 inch opening I would recommend the part # 75902 which is confirmed as a fit. For a Class II we have the part # 36542. Whenever available I always recommend a Class III over a Class II as more accessories are made for that size hitch as well as it having better capacities.

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2014 Nissan Rogue
  • Whenever available Class III hitches are the way to go as they have more capacity, use the more popular 2 inch hitch opening size, and because of that have more accessories made for them like bike racks and cargo carriers. Since the Curt hitches require a stabilizer strap like part # 18050 when used with a non-supported load like a bike rack I would recommend the Draw Tite hitch part # 75902 for your vehicle instead. I attached an install video for this hitch for you to check out as well.

  • Maximum Tongue Weight Capacity of 2015 Nissan Rogue with Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver
  • According to the information that I was able to obtain from an online owner's manual, the 2015 Nissan Rogue is going to have a tongue weight capacity of 110 lbs. Even though a hitch like the Hidden Hitch, # HH87663, offers a tongue weight capacity of 350 lbs, you will be bound by the component with the lesser rating which would be the Rogue.

You may need to remove the appearance panels for installation. If you are having the hitch installed by a local shop, ensure they give you the appearance panels to keep because you will need to re-attach once you turn in the vehicle when lease is complete. But if you watch the attached install video that I attached for this hitch you will see that the panel does need to get removed. • Recommended Hitch for 2015 Nissan Rogue
  • The Draw-Tite Class III trailer hitch you referenced, part # 75902 would be a good choice. When we installed it on a 2015 Rogue, we found that the distance from the hitch pin hole to the furthest rearward point of the back bumper was 5-3/4 inches. Since your bike rack has a 6 inch distance between the hitch pin hole and the curved portion of the shank, and likely a greater distance between the hitch pin hole and the closest portion of the bike rack, the rack should work just fine with that...

The Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, # 75902, for your 2015 Nissan Rogue should measure 44 inches from outside edge to outside edge. Also all of the carriers that have ramps and that would be a good fit require a 2 inch trailer hitch. The hitch is rated for 350 pounds tongue weight which will be enough for the combined weight of a 220 pound scooter and the carrier....
