Question:
I'm getting the BTBRV InstaLatch Ball Mount BTBRV009 for my equipment trailer and want to lock it to my truck. Will a regular hitch lock work with the built-in pins, or do I need something different?

Hi Trevor! A regular receiver lock won't work with the BTBRV InstaLatch Ball Mount # BTBRV009 since it uses built-in hitch pins. Instead, you need a lock with a 1/4" diameter pin that fits through the release mechanism.
I recommend the etrailer Lock # e39PR. It has the correct 1/4" pin diameter and a 2-3/4" usable span, so you can use it in place of the included wire lock pin to keep someone from releasing and removing the ball mount.
Are you planning to leave the ball mount installed when you aren't towing?

If I use the e39PR lock, can I still remove the ball mount without taking the lock off?
