What Flat Tow Brake System Do I Need to Flat Tow My 2025 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

Updated 05/26/2026 | Published 05/19/2026

Question:

Our motor home air brakes and has an air line fitting at the hitch. We are looking at sahara 2025 to flat tow and it has nothing. What are your recommendations for me but Im not interested in the air mechanism that put put in and put by front seat. Thanks for your help. Pete

Thanks for your question, Peter!

I do have one question before I can point you to the correct kit. What is the year, make, and model of your RV?

The reason I ask is that if your RV already has an air fitting at the rear bumper, there’s a chance it came pre-prepped for a Demco Air Force One system. The tricky part is that there isn’t one universal kit for every chassis.

Each manufacturer tends to use a different style air fitting, so the jumper hose and connection kit will vary depending on the chassis. For example:

Demco Air Force One Kit # DM55MV works with 2020 and newer Tiffin chassis RVs
Demco Air Force One Kit # DM23MV works with 2021 and newer Freightliner chassis RVs

I’m not really sure why they all decided to use different fittings, but unfortunately that’s the direction they went.

If your RV does not already have an OEM air hookup, then you would just use the standard Demco Air Force One # DM26VR.

Once I know what RV you have, I can confirm exactly which kit you’ll need.

ETrailer asked for my opinion since I have the same situation. We have a Tiffin with AirForce one air fitting in the rear. I ordered the entire kit from them and installed it myself with ease, took some time with the brackets on our 22 Raptor, but it works awesome. We took it to Alaska last summer , 4500 miles with no problems at all. 5 min to hook up and 1 min to disconnect. The control box mounts under the hood. Air cylinder mounts to your brake pedal and to the firewall for a secure pull if needed. Contact me if you want any pix. I’m camping with the entire rig this weekend. Thanks. Stan….

@Stan Hope you had fun camping this weekend, Stan! Thanks for sharing your experience. The ease of hook up each time is major bonus in my opinion. Beats having to install something in the floorboard every time you want to take off somewhere.

We have a Tiffin with the Powerglide chassis. It has the Demco fitting installed at the back bumper. I installed the Demco Air Force One braking system on our 2025 Sahara. It was a pretty easy install. I installed the Blue Ox tow system as well. I installed a Curt wiring harness that comes complete with installed diodes to protect the Jeep. The system works great. We had the Blue Ox Patriot electric braking system originally but changed to the Demco system. The Patriot system was adequate but I prefer the Demco Air Force One. Just my opinion…

@Arnold What do you like more about the Air Force One compared to the Patriot? Is it the easier hookup and not having to set up the Patriot each time, or is there something else that stands out to you?
