Question:

I have a 2021 Jeep Wrangler Sahara. I installed the C96JR wiring kit to flat tow behind my motorhome. On that kit there is a connector halfway in between the light connectors for hooking up trailer wiring. I would like to install a 7 pole and 4 pin combo plug to the rear of the jeep to haul a small trailer. What do I need?

Hello Garry, thanks for reaching out. The plug your are referring to on the Curt # C96JR is actually an accessory port for plugging in a 4-flat trailer harness. The weird part is, Curt stopped offering the 4-flat accessory plug while leaving the design of the flat tow harness the same. So the accessory port is still there, but the plug you would need to go with it is not available.

That said, you can still add a 4-flat and 7-way combo to your Wrangler. Here is what you will need:

- Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 56407

- Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat - 10 Gauge Wires # ETBC7

Those two kits combined contain everything you need to add a 4-flat and 7-way to the back of your Jeep. it includes all of the necessary wires for a brake controller, such as the Tekonsha P3 # 90195 which is what I recommend.

in this situation you would cut off the connector and use those as inputs to a module for the lights? Or could you use that signal directly to power trailer lamps if "light duty" small trailer thanks Mike

@Mike In this case what we recommend is installing the # C96JR flat tow harness, then separately installing the # 56407 T-harness. They would plug into each other, no need to cut off any connectors.
