Every driver wants braking that feels natural and steady when flat towing, not harsh or delayed. The Demco Air Force One ties directly into the air brakes of your coach so your towed car’s brakes apply at the exact same time and with the same pressure. The air connection assembly, relay valves, and coiled jumper line work together to send that air pressure instantly to the operating unit under the hood. The result is uniform braking that mirrors your RV—smooth stops, less wear on both vehicles, and confident control on every trip.

Flat towing often disables the vacuum-assist that your car normally uses, forcing other systems to push too hard on the pedal. Air Force One solves that by reactivating the vacuum-assist with air pressure from the coach. The result is braking that feels natural and balanced instead of heavy or grabby. It also helps prevent damage from excess force on the pedal or braking components.

You shouldn’t have to guess if your towed car is braking. The included wireless Coachlink monitor plugs into your RV and lights up with an audible alert whenever the brake pedal in the towed car actually moves. It connects directly to a reed switch on the actuator so you see true pedal movement, not just system activation. That accurate feedback gives instant confirmation that everything’s working right.

If your towed vehicle ever disconnects on the road, the built-in breakaway system immediately applies its brakes using the reserve air stored in the operating unit. The motorhome’s air supply seals off automatically so your coach brakes stay fully functional. This fail-safe design helps bring the towed car to a controlled stop and keeps both vehicles protected.

Once installed, the Air Force One stays tucked out of sight and is always ready. The operating unit mounts under the hood, the actuator anchors to the brake pedal, and low-profile components keep the cabin uncluttered. Just connect the coiled air hose—stretching up to 7 feet—and you’re set to tow. No setup boxes or re-positioning, just hook up and go.

Flat towing can be a much more convenient way to take your car RVing with you than using a trailer or a tow dolly. It'll save you storage space both at home and at the campsite, and it takes less time and hassle to hook up.
To flat tow your vehicle, there are 5 basic components you're going to need: a tow bar, a base plate kit, a safety cable set, tow bar wiring, and a flat tow braking system.
| For the RV | Between the RV and Towed Car | For the Towed Car |
|---|---|---|
| Hitch | Tow bar | Base plate |
| Wiring plug | Safety cables | Braking system |
| Wiring adapter cord | Wiring kit/diodes |
The custom-fit base plate installs on the frame of your toad so you can connect the car to your RV with a tow bar. Hook up safety cables between the vehicles to ensure that the toad does not separate from the motorhome if the tow bar becomes detached. Tow bar wiring syncs your vehicle's signal lights with your motorhome's tail lights, as required by law in most states. Finally, the flat tow braking system - also required in most states - activates the brakes in the toad when you hit the brakes in the RV, making for smoother, safer braking, and preventing wear on your motorhome.

Great product, brakes smooth as silk.
etrailer is the best. Will went out of his way to make certain rhe parts were delivered quickly. etrailer are the only people I trust- the most knowledgeable and great follow up. Thank you, Will!
It was an amazing experience!!! I had ordered the wrong kit and somehow they knew that and called me to get it corrected. They selected the right kit for me and immediately shipped it. Very good installation manual and easy installation. You just need a few free hours to do the install. I would recommend them to anyone!
Everything worked and fit perfect, along with tech service I am very happy. Thanks.
After the install, we have had no issues with this product. We enjoy the fact the supplemental brake system is an installed item and we are not required to do anything except hook our "toad" up and be on our way.
The Air Force One works incredibly well.
I installed this system myself in an RV site. All went well and the system works as advertised. Please take special note to the inside brake peddle cylinder placement on the brake peddle arm.
Easy to install and works great!
This system along with installation videos and info was exactly what I needed. I thank Alex J. for all the help making sure I had everything needed for my specific 2009 Wrangler. Systems, accessories, and installation vary by year and Jeep mods, Alex went above and beyond to make sure every part of this install worked for my specific rig setup and vehicle.
Best system ever! I had previously used the break buddy which i found to be very unreliable.
Towing a 2020 F250SD with powerstroke. The Blue Ox Patriot 3 just would not press the petal enough. This applies the breaks well. Had to mount the box behind grill due to no room under hood. Used some copper wire to make sure it stayed in place. Had to cut a bit of the plastic cover over radiator. One thing did that was a little off the instructions is I did not run power into cab with air hose. I took power off my charging coach-> Toad charging circuit because it was under the bumper. For the reed switch I ran a wire to passenger side fuse box and used a fuse tap. Every thing else was pretty easy. I am pretty handy and have all tools needed. I installed in about 6 hr.

Works great. Would not use anything else. Because the F250 is so heavy I did end up buying a Jeep Wrangler to tow. That said I liked the Air Force one so much I bought a second care kit fo the wrangler as well. I suspect the Blue Ox Patriot 3 would have worked for the Jeep but the Air Force One is just so easy to use I used it again. Highly recommend especially if your Class A is set up from the factory..

2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland. Air Force One controller mounted on top of battery case. Air fitting & breakaway switch mounted on the Blue Ox baseplate.

A year later the Air Force One breaking system is still working perfectly. We’ve put about 8000 miles on it with no problems.
