When driving through traffic or rolling down a mountain grade, smooth and even braking makes all the difference. The Demco Air Force One Flat Tow Brake System uses the same air pressure from your RV’s brake line to apply your towed vehicle’s brakes at the same time and with the same intensity. That means no delay and no uneven stops—just natural, synchronized braking whether you’re easing to a light or making a sudden stop. The system meets FMVSS safety guidelines for air-brake motorhomes and keeps your coach’s air supply isolated, so braking performance is never compromised.
Most braking systems overpower the pedal when the engine is off, but this setup reactivates your vehicle’s vacuum-assist function for a smooth, factory-like feel. By tying into the vacuum line and using air pressure from the coach to create the needed vacuum, it lets the pedal move naturally. You get balanced braking without over-pressuring the system or causing wear on the towed vehicle’s components.
You don’t have to guess if your towed vehicle is actually braking. The included wireless Coachlink monitor lights up and beeps in your RV every time the toad’s brake pedal is pressed. Because it connects to a reed switch on the actuator, the alert only triggers when the pedal itself moves—eliminating false signals. It’s a simple, reliable way to keep tabs on your braking in real time and gives confidence that everything is working properly on the road.
If separation ever happens, the built-in breakaway system automatically applies the brakes using a reserve air supply stored in the operating unit. The switch mounts to the front of the towed vehicle, and if the cable pulls free, it activates the brakes instantly. The motorhome’s air lines are sealed off at the same moment, so the RV’s brakes continue to function normally. It’s automatic protection that helps bring the towed vehicle safely to a stop.
This system is built for 2021 and newer Freightliner chassis motorhomes with BrakeSync, which means the coach-side air assembly is already installed at the factory. You simply plug in and go. The operating unit mounts under the hood with a low profile that stays tucked out of sight, and the coiled air hose and 7-foot breakaway cable connect neatly at the rear of the RV. Once installed, the Air Force One stays in place, ready whenever you are—no bulky boxes or repositioning needed.
Flat towing can be a much more convenient way to take your car RVing with you than using a trailer or a tow dolly. It'll save you storage space both at home and at the campsite, and it takes less time and hassle to hook up.
To flat tow your vehicle, there are 5 basic components you're going to need: a tow bar, a base plate kit, a safety cable set, tow bar wiring, and a flat tow braking system.

The custom-fit base plate installs on the frame of your toad so you can connect the car to your RV with a tow bar. Hook up safety cables between the vehicles to ensure that the toad does not separate from the motorhome if the tow bar becomes detached. Tow bar wiring syncs your vehicle's signal lights with your motorhome's tail lights, as required by law in most states. Finally, the flat tow braking system - also required in most states - activates the brakes in the toad when you hit the brakes in the RV, making for smoother, safer braking, and preventing wear on your motorhome.

An excellent and simple system if you have Brake Sync on your Freightliner or Spartan. The staff was extremely helpful, especially Hannah.
After a year of use, the Air Force system is still working perfectly. Have used it to tow a Jeep Grand Cherokee for about 13k miles so far.
Best tow bar system ever owned! Very easy to operate quick release towbar. Plug in coach air can’t be much easier for confident proportional braking towing my Ford F150 Raptor.
When I ordered this kit I assumed the Super C Freightliner was included in this group however, after many hours researching and posting on FB Entegra Super C board I learned this Freightliner chassis does not come with BrakeSync installed. Luckily I made the last minute purchase of the coach side air kit with expedited shipping so I have all the required components for the install appointment just days away.
etrailer should change the info on this kit to state it is only the Class A freightliner chassis that have the coach pre-installed. Alternately, provide guidance on how to confirm the purchaser's RV is equipped or not.
This caused a great deal of stress and frustration trying to confirm I had everything needed. In addition, there are not many firms who will install this for liability reasons. Even the local freightliner dealer would not touch it to install the coach side system.
I could have installed it myself if I had more time but had to find someone who could do it for us so it got done within our short 3 week timeline.
System was easy to install if you watch one of your installation videos and take your time. First time installing a system like this and it took about 6 hours. Tesed system and everything worked as expected.

Love the Air Force One. After professional installation, it's simple to and quick hook up the toad. The bluetooth display in the rig cockpit clearly indicates when toad's brakes are engaged. In the year since it was installed, we've used it over 10,000 miles with no problems.

A fantastic system to Flat tow any vehicle. Easy to install, especially if you watch the ETrailer videos.
The Air Force One system is rock solid and provides reliable braking for my TOAD. Installation took some time, but everything is working as expected. Teh etrailer tutorials on YouTube were fantastic! I learned little tricks for operation and installation from all the techs going through the set-up, installation and operation of the Air Force One system.
