What Lift Kit is Needed for 2002 Exiss Horse Trailer with Dexter Tor Flex Axles

Updated 03/17/2026 | Published 03/15/2026

Question:

I have a 2002 Exiss horse trailer with tandem Dexter 5200lb axles in need of a lift. It looks like I need part number K71-724-02 and also part number DX57FR. Can you please confirm this based on the attached photos? Can you also confirm the DX57FR brackets will need to be welded to the frame? Axle tag: P-15, Model SLR, SN D6053287

Hey Ben, you really did your homework on this and I can really appreciate that! Everything you mentioned would be correct. The part # K71-724-02 is the correct lift kit for your Tor Flex 5,200 lb axle and in order to install it you would need to replace the axle hangers you have now with the part # DX57FR since you have horizontal style mounts.

You will need to remove what you have and weld the brackets on both the axle and the frame.
