Question:

Hello I did review the shackle kit and curious if thats a better idea than 2" blocks and longer u-BOLTS?

We have lift kits for trailer that easily add 2 inches to the height of the trailer. For that you'd want the part # RR23QX and you'd be set. I attached a picture that shows how it installs to give you an idea. This would be the easiest solution to your situation.

Yes, the lift kit I mentioned is a better idea that adding blocks between your leaf springs and axles. Adding length there puts more stress on the leaf springs which may not be an issue in the short term but over time would wear the springs out quicker.

I have already done this with my 5th wheel. Is there another solution to add height the correct way? My truck is a 3500 ram.annd only has a leveling kit and 1 1/2” taller tires. Nothing excessive but the front of the trailer still rides a little high. And there is only about 4- 5” of room to bed rail Thoughts? Thanks, Ed
