Swapping out an old or damaged trailer connector is quick with this Curt 7-way blade and 4-way flat plug. It replaces the existing factory 7-way and gives you both connection options in one plug. You get a 7-way for electric brakes and charge lines plus a 4-way for basic lighting. No adapters to juggle—just one clean setup that handles all your towing needs.
This connector plugs straight into the factory U.S. Car Connector at the back of the existing 7-way. There’s no splicing or wiring guesswork. Just disconnect the old plug, snap this one into place, and mount it to the bracket. It’s built to match OEM connections, so the fit is right and all trailer functions work as they should.
The integrated backup alarm automatically sounds when you put the vehicle in reverse, letting people nearby know you’re backing up. It’s built right into the connector housing, so there’s nothing extra to mount or wire separately. It activates only in reverse and works off the same circuit as your factory reverse lights.
Whether you’re replacing a factory socket or tying into an existing pigtail harness, this connector uses the standard round U.S. Car interface found on most trucks. It’s also compatible with common pigtail harnesses like # PK11998, so it can be adapted if your setup uses a different mounting location or custom wiring route.
Designed to connect only to vehicles with an existing factory 7-way connector; does not add trailer wiring where none exists. For vehicles without a 7-way, use an appropriate wiring harness or adapter such as Curt part # C57102.

Today we're going to review part number C57101. This is the Curt Trailer Connector for Ford, GM and Dodge Trucks, with a factory 7-way. This includes a backup alarm, 7-way blade connector, and a 4-way flat connector. This part can be used to replace an OEM 7-pole trailer connector on your Ford, GM, or Dodge truck, or also if your truck does not have a connector at the time but has the factory harness underneath, you can find the plug that would actually plug into the back here. This does supply a 7-blade RV style plug, a 4-flat trailer connector right here. I'll just pop off the cap and show you, there's the 4-way. It also supplies this integrated back up alarm. It is constructed of a durable plastic.
Has the nice heavy duty lid with the seals on it to help protect the terminals on the inside there. It also has the dust cover on the 4-way to help protect that 4-way. It does come with the mounting bracket and the hardware for the mounting bracket. Again this is designed to fit on any of the Ford, GM and Dodge trucks that come with the factory 7-way OEM towing package harness. Basically what you would do is take your mounting bracket, slide that through, slide that so the holes line up. Once the holes are lined up take your bolts and nuts and install it to that. Then you'll see at the top you have two holes here to install this bracket to your vehicle.
Then you can take your 4-way and then just go ahead and slide that on just like that to hold your 4-way. Once it's all installed it'll look just like that, so you'll have access to your 7-way, have access to your 4-way, just like that. Again over here you can see there's three small lights, but the main thing is it gives out an audible sound for when you go into reverse to back up. That should do it for the review on part number C57101. This is a great plug and play solution for towing and a backup beeper. While it's not that loud, it does the job and doesn't piss people off on the early morning routes.

Got the product in just a few days after ordering. I installed it on a 2002 F-150 King Ranch crew cab pickup. Took longer to take the old, worn out factory installed one off than it did to put the new one on! Everything worked out just right. The only suggestion that I have is that the installation instructions should be more comprehensive. I'm pretty handy, so was able to figure it out quickly. A novice might have problems.
I was under the impression that this would be a "direct replacement" for existing receptacle. The wiring was, but the bracket from the manufacturer in NO way fit as a replacement for the existing bracket.
I'm a bit disappointed, but I got over it!
The back up horn would have been a great addition.
I may try and make a duplicate bracket, but.....

This device is still working great. I clean this out occassionally and so the connections work good. Also, the back-up alarm is still functioning good as well. Great little item, I highly recommend it.
Works fine, but the back-alarm is very annoying - short, rapid & very weak sounding. Not acceptable, will keep unit but disconnect the alarm & replace w/a traditional warning alarm. Acceptable for a Prius or a mini-van, but not a 2500hd Duramax.
One year old and made it through the Pittsburgh winter just fine. Keeps moisture and dirt out. Back up alarm works great, not overly loud but can hear it fine in back of van. Wiring was pretty straightforward and connected to the ford harness we ordered with the van.

Got it on the day the tracking said i would. had to wait a couple days to install. took about 15 mins counting taking down the factory bracket and drilling and tapping it to accept the new piece and making a cutout like the bracket that came with it. cxould have used it but just decided to use the factory bracket. plug and play as they said. the back up alarm was an extra i really didn't have to have but it all works great. if i ever need any trailering accessories again etrailer will be my first call. not to mention it was about one fifth the cost of the factory replacement piece.

Very satisfied for the most part, it looks great but unsure if it works because I found out after hooking it up that it didn't work presumably because I have to take the jeep in to a service center to have the computer reflashed for the trailer lights to work since the jeep didn't come standard with the tow package. Not e-trailers fault. The only reason I didn't give a 5 star rating is I had to supply two small bolts and nuts for the bracket to bolt up to the hitch. The hitch bolted up great and I'm very satisfied with it. Thanks again and I will continue to purchase more from etrailer.com
Well made product comes with all mounting hardware needed.
It will also be easy next time to replace my seven way hookup if it goes out.

Still working, I did modify mine with a switch run to my cab to cut off or on the backup alarm. Take note Curt this would not be that hard to put an option on these for this purpose
When the Trailer Connector arrived the spring that holds the door closed was weak, George from e-trailer sent an e-mail checking to make sure the product was satisfactory, I informed George of the spring issue & he put me in contact with Nicole, she immediately sent a new one along with instructions on how to return the original connector. What Great Customer Service!! Can't go wrong being an e-trailer customer.
Installed the product on a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee that had a towing package installed after purchase of the vehicle. The product installed relatively easily after a couple of bolts, nuts and lock washers were found to mount the bracket to the designated trailer hitch mounting location.
In the run-up to this purchase the major problem was finding a connector with the right pin configuration that fits the one on the vehicle. This unit was the only one that provided a picture of the OEM connector or vehicle side connector's pin configuration. A big help to this type of problem would be to include a drawing of the connector instead of pictures, which could be found but are too dark or lacking in detail to be useful.
Quality product. Installed and operational in under 30 minutes. I can now power my truck camper and boat trailer from one location with a professional look. Highly recommend.

Works great,not over loud,but effective safety device
This part has been a lifesaver, literally. I own a lifted 2007 F-150 that stands pretty tall and the backup alarm portion of this connector warns people or anyone around me of when I am backing up especially when they are in my blind spots. This connector in addition to the backup camera are a must when you own a lifted vehicle. One of the things a like the most is that it replaces my stock 7 and 4 way blades and looks very nice. Since it comes with a built in 4 way blade I have an additional 4 way because my stock wiring harness has one also. So I have two 4 way blades, one that I use for my trailer and a spare to use for whatever else I can think of.
