Can I Use Both the 7-Way and 4-Way Connectors at the Same Time on a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado

Question:
Hello, I have a truck camper that I plug into my rear 7 way plug on the back of my 2015 silverado, but also want to tow a boat trailer that is four way. I cannot use both at once because the covers on the connector cannot both be open at the same time. Can you tell me if this can even be done Using both connectors at once to power both the camper and the trailer lights, and if there is an adapter or something I can buy that will maybe split the 7 way? Please help!!

You can use a 7-Way and 4-Way connector at the same time just as long as you are not overloading the light circuits. If your camper has a lot of outside lights like running lights, and brake/stop/turn lights then the lights that perform the same functions on your boat trailer might be a little dim or the fuses might blow on those circuits.
For a 7-Way and 4-Way connector that you can use at the same time I recommend using the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package # C55774. This will allow you to use both connectors at the same time by connecting to the US car connector at the rear of your 2015 Chevrolet Silverado.

I wanted to post this in case anyone else runs into this issue. You can easily remove the covers (just pull the long pin holding the cover) to the combo 7-pin /4-pin connector on a Silverado to allow you to use both. Both connectors WILL work at the same time. On my 2014 Silverado, I wanted to add an extra set of trailer lights because the car I was towing was large and made it hard to see the trailer lights. I bought a $35 set of magnetic trailer lights from harbor freights and just plugged them into the open 4-pin connector.
