Choosing Between Furrion Chill Cube With and Without Wall Thermostat

I have a Ge ducted unit that is junk and I was looking at some of the comments between the FR 39TD and the FR 49TD and noticed that one of the comments was it’s better off to go with the FR 39 due to the fact that the communication between the thermostat to the propane heater has issues. Just following up to see if there has been a solution for this if not, am I better off going with the FR 39TD. Also, what type of warranty comes with the FR 39TD. Thank you.

Hey Doug! There have been a lot of furnace compatibility issues with the Chill Cube wall thermostat. As of right now, they have not resolved the problem so it is best to use your existing thermostat for the furnace if possible. The # FR39TD is designed for a ducted setup and will run off of the remote as well as the controls on the air distribution box.
The version with the wall thermostat # FR49TD has been showing up with a lower price so if that is still the case you might as well get it instead. You can either try to install the thermostat and see if it works, or just leave it as a backup. If your existing thermostat is incapable of running the furnace on its own, I recommend swapping it out for a simple furnace thermostat like the # DMC84RR.
If you would like a heat pump they just came out with a new model that has one # FR97TQ so that is also an option. Either way, the Chill Cube is definitely an awesome system and you will be happy with the upgrade.
