Today on this 2000 Ford Expedition, we're going to install part number PK11893. This is going to be an exact replacement for the part that's already on the vehicle. To start off, we'll unbolt the original connector. There will be four screws that we have to remove. The screws are an odd size. We're using a 5.5 millimeter socket. Once we unscrew it, we'll pull it loose, then we need some more slack in the wire so I'll unsnap it from behind the bumper.
There's a plastic push pin fastener, we can just pry up the wire harness and up and out of the way. Now we need to remove the connector from the wire harness. There's a small gray locking pin that we have to remove. Push down on the tab and then we can pull apart the connector. At this point, we take our new connector and just reinstall into the wire harness and snap it back together in reverse order we just did. Then we can bolt it back into place and then reinstall the clip for the wire harness to hold it up and out of the way.
With just those two steps, our wire harness is already installed and ready to go. That will finish it for part number PK11893 on our 2000 Ford Expedition. .
