We ordered one to replace a failing Dometic, I can say that so far we love this A/C, not only is it quieter it cools much better. We are going to replace the second unit with one soon. One thing we did have an issue was finding out what everyone ment by "modify" to use it on a bighorn. The modification is to cut a hole in the cieling and cover the sections in the cavity so your air ducts don't leak. I used a foam insulation board and foil duct tape I got from lowes.

It is everything it was advertised as. It’s quiet cools fast easy to install. I like that the fan runs all the time it keeps the temperature even throughout the camper.

So far so good. Definitely a quiet unit as expected. Many comments said thermostat wouldn't control furnace, but swapping with a Coleman Mach 3 unit and Airexcel thermostat, this furrion thermostat controls my furnace just fine. I do wish there was a way to turn the fan completely off for certain boondocking situations but power draw is minimal, never saw more than 700 watts running.
Unit was amazing delivery was super fast and install was done buy a rv tech and he said it wasnt hard just few wires to connect back
Super easy install. We went from our original 13500 but unit to the chill cube. First thing you notice is how quiet it is. You barely notice it. Then you realize how quickly it cools. With it on auto it move air all the time keeping the humidity out and the camper cool. The next camper I purchase will have this unit on the roof before I leave the lot!!!
All the hype of the Furrion Chill Cube and had to get one. It blows cold air, and is MUCH quieter than our stock unit. Not complaints and somewhat challenging to hook up the thermostat to the furnace.
Would give it 5 stars BUT....
The fan ALWAYS run.... ANYTIME the thermostat is on. It doesn't matter if the heater is on (completely separate unit) or the A/C has reached its desired temp and condenser turns off. The fan WILL NOT turn off. It's somewhat annoying and nowhere I researched said that happens. But, that's the way it is. Hopefully Furrion will make a new control unit that allows the fan to turn off.
Their reason.... air circulating with the fan on gives the temp sensor a more accurate reading since the sensor is in the fan.
With the heater on, the fan is supposed to push the air down and help circulate it.
Granted, our unit is ducted and can set the fan to speed 1 and it's not terribly loud, but I would prefer the option to not have it run anytime the thermostat is on.
My GE original unit lost its refrigerant at 2 years and 3 months. I ordered a new GE unit and it was damaged during shipping. I ordered a second GE unit, damaged during shipping. GE packaging is not sufficient for todays carriers. Ordered the Furrion Chill Cube and it arrived in good order (significant difference in packaging). Installed nicely and runs cold and quiet. Controlling the Suburban furnace from the Chill Cube wall thermostat is more complex. I found a modified wiring diagram from Furrion to address the issue.
Warning! Got a Bum unit from E Trailer and they told me they couldn't help me and told me to call Furrion. If it worked fine when installed and failed a time later I am cool with that. This was broken on arrival. Lousy service and would def shop for a deal next time. I used E-Trailer to make sure a quality customer service experience was a lock. Wrong!!!
Arrived in record time. Excellent price. Smooth install. Mildly miffed about the thermistor being buried in the unit (same issues as the old Furrion HE units... they'll never learn) and the thermostat that fixes this issue also doesn't have half it's features implemented and causes all sorts of errors when off-grid without 120v (Google it). There are work-arounds, but that shouldn't be the case on something this expensive that's been our this long.
Unfortunately, on startup I heard an awful grinding noise from the roof unit and immediately turned the unit off. Being familiar with Furrion HE units propensity to walk their condenser fans off into the condenser because of a $.15 nut (I've had to replace one under warranty), I was familiar with this noise.
Pulling the cover off the unit, I found a piece of loose carpet with hook-and-loop on it wrapped partially around the compressor and the other end flapping loose near the condenser fan. Said fan was missing two blades that were loose inside the unit (see pictures). I have no idea if the fan walked off, the blades were already broken in transit, something got jammed in the fan (seems like the loose carpet is suspect), or what. But the unit ran for all of 10 seconds and is trashed.
E-Trailer is backordered for 30 days, so I had to haul my old unit back into place and patch it together enough to last until then (we hit 100 tomorrow in Arizona). I have a 1000 mile trip two days after it's scheduled to arrive, so fingers crossed this one makes it in one piece.
None of this is e-trailers fault and they got me a replacement one the way, but if you buy Furrion A/C units from anywhere I would HIGHLY recommend taking the cover off and making sure nothing is loose or broken inside before you bother with installation.
We just returned from our first trip since installing the Chill Cube, and we are very impressed with its performance. The airflow is a significant improvement over our previous 16k unit, and we especially appreciate how quiet the system remains while running.

Unit was shipped quickly and received as scheduled. Minor tear in the corner of the box. Found the ac cover to be broken/ damaged upon opening and an email with photos and call ( on a Saturday) netted a replacement cover being sent immediately.
Always have received excellent service from Etrailer.
The air conditioner is one of the quietest I’ve ever had. Working well.

Despite the hiccups, I'm glad to hear that everything ended up working well!
Easy to install and hook up. I used a forklift to get the old unit off and the new one on the roof. I was also able to use the thermostat to control the air conditioner (coming from a coleman mach 15) and the heater. The unit is much quieter and more efficient. Only down side is the fan always stays on when the unit is on. It pulls less than 1 amp when blowing, which if you are dry camping on an inverter is something to keep an eye on. When the unit is running normally, it only pulls about 4.5 amps, so it does run more efficient. Overall very pleased.
Just installed the Chill Cube in my GD Reflection. Everything works perfectly and very quiet. I would like to give input on the thermostat for anyone having problems getting their furnace to work. I have a Suburban furnace with only one wire that was run to my coleman mach A/C. The instructions for the thermostat tell you to connect the 4 wires on ac to 4 thermostat wires going to thermostat, keeping track of corresponding wire colors and matching functions and the wire
from furnace is connected directly to a thermostat wire. This did not work for my
Furnace. Here is what does work. A/C wires Purple and blue connect to thermostat wires these two wires go directly to the A and B slots on the thermostat. A/C wires Red and Green do not get used. Connect 2 more thermostat wires to RV 12v+ and 12v- these 2 wires get connected to slots 12v+ and ground on thermostat. Connect Furnace wire to a thermostat wire. This wire gets connected to the furnace slot on the thermostat. You should have 5 thermostat wires in total. The ground slot next to the furnace slot will remain empty.

Chill cube was easy to install and works great. Only problem was getting my furnace to run on new thermostat which it won’t. Just have to get a heat only thermostat and wire

Only disappointment was no provision to duct air center forward of Furrion Chill Cube. After a call for technical help from Furrion, I was permitted to remove the top half of electrical junction box to make room for forward 2"x6" fabricated duct. Included wall thermostat and wiring interface at return air compartment works well and also operates my propane gas furnace. An initial test today verified the wiring and duct installation. Plan to enjoy over 4th week in predicted 90+ degree temps. Installed on roof of Holiday Rambler 2014 Admiral 30' 28A. Replaces Coleman Mach 13.5. Coleman struggled to keep up in temps over 90. Furrion Cube rating of 18 should help significantly and operate quietly.
Unit arrived on its side (UPS) and may have been dropped?? I hooked unit up and had loud noise. Texted etrailer and they sent replacement unit in under a week! Great customer service!
Hooked up new unit and works great so far. I did not need the coleman mach conversion kit so I returned it with the bad unit. Always had great service with etrailer on anything I bought from them, I wholly believe the 1 st unit was dropped in shipping. Thanks etrailer!!
I used the chill cube to replace an 20 yr old Colman Mach. Easy install overall. I got the furrion t stat as well. I had to call furtion tech support to get the proper wiring diagram for the stat, but that was the only hiccup. The unit runs very quiet and uses much less power. This will be nice as I can use it off grid with my batteries/inverter when needed, or running down the road as well.
I purchased this unit to replace a 20 year old 15k ducted Coleman Mach on a 40' toy hauler. This kit had everything required for installation. Thermostat wiring was slightly different than the old system and the installation manuals made it easy to figure that out. I had the unit up in running in about 1 hour. This A/C is by far quieter than the old Coleman, and noticeably quieter than the Chill HE I used while this unit was on order. No startup surge is a bonus when using the generator. Overall very happy with the unit so far (about 80 hrs around the clock in a heatwave)
I saw several install videos on this unit and all the hype on how quite it was and was a little skeptical, but after my start up I will testify that this was not hype. Soooo much quitter than my original and the normal RV units. Works great too, very fast on cooling down. I have a 33 foot Tracer, my Furrion 15k unit went out and I went for the Cube and glad I did. The only thing to get use to is the fan does run all the time. I saw that in reviews, I kind of like the unit to go completely off but with the sound so low it really did not matter. I did not connect the thermostat yet, just needed to get cooled down. I am hoping my WiFi thermostat will work with this unit, remains to be seen.

Love hearing this! A lot of people are skeptical when they hear how quiet the Cube units are, so it’s awesome to get real-world feedback like yours after making the switch from the Furrion 15k. Sounds like it made a huge difference in your 33-foot Tracer, especially with how quickly it cools down. with the newer refrigerant systems, a lot of older thermostats don’t communicate properly with these newer units. Hopefully your WiFi thermostat plays nice with it. What thermostat do you have? Definitely let us know how it turns out once you get everything connected!

Furrion Chill Cube Variable Speed RV AC System w/ ADB & Thermostat - 18K Btu - Ducted - Black - R32.
I received the Chill Cube on the date that was given to me by Noah (etrailer). I removed the old A/C unit and installed the new A/C unit in about two hours (had access to a forklift). The Chill Cube was all plug and play except for the 120v power and 12v wall thermostat. Chill Cube puts out a lot of cold air when vented straight down through the unit, it is quite a bit noisier than expected but still much quieter than the old unit. When you close the ADB vent and direct the air flow into the ductwork it is very quiet inside. This unit is also very quiet outside the RV. I haven’t installed the wall thermostat yet so I don’t know if it will operate the A/C and the Heater. I have had the Chill Cube running for about a week and so far very happy with its performance and noise levels. If you are looking to replace your A/C unit I would recommend the Furrion Chill Cube.
The 18K Chill Cube itself works great and cools the RV very well. Installation was fairly straightforward and I’m very happy with the A/C performance. My biggest disappointment was the thermostat setup. In my RV, the Furrion thermostat would not control my existing two-wire propane furnace, so I had to add a separate thermostat for the furnace. This may not be an issue with every RV or furnace setup, but had I known beforehand, I probably would have skipped the Furrion wall thermostat and simply used the included remote for the A/C.
The actual installation took me about 4 hours. I had around 8 hours total into the project because some bad existing wiring caused extra troubleshooting that had nothing to do with the Chill Cube itself. Shipping was fast, communication was excellent, and the unit was packaged very well. I would absolutely purchase this product again and would highly recommend it and doing business with etrailer.

Thanks so much for the detailed review William! Sounds like the Chill Cube has been a great upgrade. Four hours to install the system and another eight chasing down old wiring...that's a project most RV owners can probably relate to! I also really appreciate you sharing your experience with the thermostat and propane furnace. That's the kind of insight that can save someone else a lot of head scratching before they start their own install. What kind of RV did you install the Chill Cube in and have you had a chance to put it through any really hot camping trips yet?
I ordered this AC from etrailer while it was out of stock and waited for it to get back in stock to be delivered. Once I did receive it my wife and I installed on our RV. The initial install was not bad at all. I would say it took a total of two hours and the hardest thing was just getting the new AC up there and set in place. The trouble started after that. Upon starting the unit everything seemed fine the blower fan cane on and started circulating air. Then when I changed the mode to cooling I immediately heard a loud and obvious rubbing noise. I went up on the roof to remove the cover to inspect the AC in the 95 degree heat. One i pulled the cover off it was obvious that it was defective from the factory. The fasteners to fasten the evaporator fan motor to the AC chassis were not fastened at all. They were never fastened from the factory and this was causing the fan to be tilted and rubbing the unit casing. I did not want to remove the new AC and reinstall the old one so I could send the defective one back. I had to go to my local hardware store and get fasteners that would work and I ended up having to modify those fasteners to get them to work. I spent over $20 on fasteners and hardware to repair a brand new AC and it took me 8 hours and a lot of frustration to get it fixed. I reached out to etrailer because that is where i purchased it. The customer service was not good to say the least. I mean you spend nearly $1500 on something I expect it to at least be tested prior to sending it out. I know this was a factory issue and not etrailers fault but I was an etrailer customer. After repeated correspondences with etrailer they informed me they were going to issue a $50 refund on my order. I felt that was not nearly enough and I will not purchase from a company that does not have their customers back better than that. I could see a $500 refund or even a total refund for a completely defective brand new Air conditioner. I’m sure they could have made Furrion cover their loss. So I guess even though nothing in the instructions tells you to remove the cover and inspect the unit prior to installing it that is what I would do if I had it to do over again. Then I would have went through the return process. etrailer.com should put their customers satisfaction over profit in my opinion.
