Hey Anita, thanks for the information! The older Protechtor series 2001 propane detectors are not around anymore and the current replacement options are a little bit bigger. They are the RV Propane Gas Detector item # RS64FR in white and item # RS44FR in black. They measure 4-1/4" long x 2-5/8" wide x 1/2" thick so they're about an inch longer than your 3-5/8" long x 2-1/2" wide x 7/8" deep Protechtor series 2001.

The RV Propane Gas Detector item # RS64FR in white and item # RS44FR in black are 12-volt, 2-wire detectors that have a 85 dB alarm. They detect propane as low as 4200 ppm so you won't have to worry about your RV filling up with propane before the alarm goes off.

For additional protection we also have the RV Propane Gas and Carbon Monoxide Detector item # RS34FR in white or item # RS54FR. These detectors all have a 5-year lifespan and a bit extra cost you can add a carbon monoxide detector to your RV. They are the same size as the RV Propane Gas Detector item # RS64FR in white and item # RS44FR in black.

What kind of trailer or motorhome do you have and is the Protechtor series 2001 detector the original one?

I had the same issue, my detector was in a 2013 Big Horn, but it fit perfect into the same location the old style came out of

I purchased the Propane, CO2 combined detector. It was a drop in replacement using the bezels provided. Delighted to have eliminated a 9V battery CO2 detector in the process.
