Sleep soundly in your RV knowing that your family will be better protected with this accurate propane and CO detector. When either gas is detected, an LED and a loud horn immediately alert you so you can get to safety more quickly.
Features:
Specs:
Having a propane or carbon monoxide gas leak in your RV is a scary situation that you don't want to even think about let alone experience. But this detector will give you peace of mind knowing that if there are dangerous levels of either, it'll quickly and accurately warn you and your family so you can get out of the RV and into fresh air.
When carbon monoxide is detected, the red LED will flash, and the horn will blare 4 times. When propane gas only or both propane and CO are detected, the red LED will come on, and the horn will be constant. And because the sensors are highly selective, they're designed to only sound the alarm for lethal gases, reducing the number of false alarms that occur in non-threatening scenarios.
It'll also alert you when the battery is low or when the detector has reached the end of its life and needs to be replaced, so you never have to be without protection.
To double check that the detector is operating normally, you can easily use the button on the front to test the propane sensor, carbon monoxide sensor, and battery voltage. You should test your detector every time it's taken out of storage and before it's taken out for each camping trip. This button also lets you silence the horn up to 5 minutes during non-life-threatening situations. So, you can turn off that annoying racket in the middle of the night while you're trying to hunt for a new battery.
The 2 included universal mounting brackets allow this detector to replace 90 percent of all OEM surface-mount and flush-mount detectors. This detector can replace most Atwood and Dometic branded detectors, as well as Safe-T-Alert 20 series, 25 series, 30 series, 35 series, 40 series, 45 series, and 65 series detectors.
Because propane gas is heavier than air, it'll settle near the floor, so this detector should be installed 4" to 18" from the floor to accurately detect the presence of gas. Also make sure that the detector is located in an area that isn't near a window or door, behind furniture or drapes, or in a closet. It also shouldn't be installed with 24" near a stove, oven, fridge, or furnace.

I purchased the PSafe RS34FR CO / Propane detector to replace the "Dometic 31011 Carbon Monoxide/ Propane Leak Detector Detects Both LP & Co Gas" in my small Columbia Northwest Classic, a small RV trailer. The old detector had to be replaced because it had reached its 7 year 'End of Life' point.
I have installed it and it passes the self-test. I can't speak to its long-term performance, but it looks good and I don't expect any issues.
The old detector was installed in rectangular cutout, but PSafe detector comes with mounting plates, the smaller of which was large enough to cover the old cutout - no problem there.
The issue I had installing the new detector came from the fact that the wheel well compartment behind the detector is small and cramped AND because the PSafe detector leads are only about 8" long. The old 31011 detector had leads that are about 18" long. If I had been very determined to do so perhaps I could have pulled the camper wires down to the detector wires and gotten them connected. What I did was to cut the wires from the old detector and use them to extend the new detector wires so that it was now easy to connect them to the camper at the top of the wire bundle where the old detector was connected.
In the picture the old detector cutout is lighted with the green glow from the detector, the splices of the detector wires are above the glow and to the right.
I really think the PSafe detector should be provided with longer leads. It would be a cheap improvement and if not needed, wires are easier to shorten than lengthen. Also, when you must splice wires as I did, it introduces an unnecessary point of failure.
Perfect fit with supplied mounting plate options. Comes with 2.
Looks better and has smaller profile than the original oem monitor. 2016 Coachman freedom express camper.
Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy! After 6 years, Atwood detector finally decided it was done. Found this little number and was so easy, I was done in 5 minutes (most of which was finding a pair of pliers). Cross my fingers it never detects anything but feel much better that we have a working one now.
This unit was easy to install and works perfectly! Highly recommend as a replacement for original from factory.
Excellent replacement. Nice that a couple cover plates are included to cover preexisting cutout.
Easy ordering and quick delivery by etrailer as always
Great replacement for the original.
Service and delivery, solid as usual.
Connected easy and fit where old one was removed.
Love doing business with your company. Good prices and great service.
It arrived very busy time for shipping haven’t installed it yet .
As expected
Great product, easy to install.
Great item for the price and EZ install. Replaced old faulty unit that would go off all hours of the day and night with this low profile unit. Tammie at etrailer was a great help with selecting the correct item with fast and free shipping.
easy to change, tested good to go, old one tested bad after lasting almost 9 years
I was so thankful to find that there are two in one detectors for propane and carbon monoxide. Both of my units went bad within about three weeks of each other and the carbon monoxide one was going to be extremely difficult to install. Because I was able to get this to in one unit, I was able to install it down where the propane unit was and was able to skip the nightmare of trying to Wire into the tiny space that was allowed for the carbon monoxide alarm. This was a lifesaver!
I haven’t actually tested the alarm just yet, but it looks like it’s working!
Great! Easy to install and fit the space perfectly.
Great little carbon monoxide propane detector. Easy install. Several cover plates made installation super easy. Quick delivery.
The detector installed easily and was quite invisible/flat against the wall. I tested it with an unlit propane burner and also with 2 large garbage bags filled with car exhaust. Both worked perfectly and we now feel more at ease when going to sleep, knowing that we will be warned in the event of a propane or carbon monoxide exposure.

No problem. Still working fine.
We just installed it today. The video you have posted about how to do it was invaluable, and after a quick call to the manufacturer to find out how to access the wires, it was a fairly easy process to hook it up (even though I've never done anything like it before). eTrailer is our first choice for RV items in our full-time lifestyle.
Worked as planned. Quick shipping. Easy install.
Easy install and perfect replacement for CO/propane detector in 2022 Casita Spirit Deluxe!
My Gson accidently turned on propane to stove and i didnt notice smell for 20 minutes or more after the fact. Alarm did not go off on new unit. Window by stove was open thankfully and i finally noticed and shut burner valve off. I installed it where previous was located. Guessing fresh air flow kept it from sounding. Pic included of location.

Gosh, Michael! Im sure that was a little unnerving! I reached out to the manufacturer and they had some good insight. They said, Without being there during the incident and taking actual measurements, it’s impossible to reach a definitive conclusion. However, my educated guess is that dangerous levels of propane gas probably did not reach the alarm. The alarm is designed to activate below 20 percent LEL (Lower-Explosive-Limit), or about one fifth the level needed to explode. The odorant added to propane gas will allow people to smell a propane leak long before this level. Basically, people will smell a propane leak before the alarm will activate, which are both long before reaching dangerous levels. There are other factors including where the leak is from versus the alarm location and where people are standing, fresh air currents, open windows, etc. They are going to send you a replacement just to be on the safe side. They dont believe the sensor malfunctioned but I thought a replacement might lend you a little peace of mind about it.
I replaced a very outdated atwood lp detector and it retrofit the existing cutout just right. I was very happy with it.
Simple to install this direct replacement for the expired unit in our RV.
This is what is supposed to be a kind of direct replacement for the old Atwood that was in the trailer. Seems that it will fit as described to fit the original hole in the wall. Product seems to be a little flimsy compared to original, but if it works that is all I care about. Pretty good product I am guessing.
The original propane and CO monitor expired and the company didn’t make that model anymore. This detector was a perfect replacement and even came with a plate that was designed to fit over the hole for the old model. So all I had to do was connect two wires and screw the new plate back on.
