Having a propane gas leak in your RV is a scary situation that you don't want to even think about let alone experience. But this detector will give you peace of mind knowing that if there are dangerous levels of propane, it'll quickly and accurately warn you and your family so you can get out of the RV and into fresh air.

Hard-to-Miss Visual and Audible Cues

When propane gas is detected, the red LED will come on, and the horn will be constant. And because the sensor is highly selective, it's designed to only sound the alarm for lethal propane gas, reducing the number of false alarms that occur in non-threatening scenarios.

It'll also alert you when the battery is low or when the detector has reached the end of its life and needs to be replaced, so you never have to be without protection.

Easy to Test and Silence

RV Safe Propane Detector

To double check that the detector is operating normally, you can easily use the button on the front to test the propane sensor and battery voltage. You should test your detector every time it's taken out of storage and before it's taken out for each camping trip. This button also lets you silence the horn up to 5 minutes during non-life-threatening situations. So, you can turn off that annoying racket in the middle of the night while you're trying to hunt for a new battery.

Surface-Mount, Bolt-On Installation

The 2 included universal mounting brackets allow this detector to replace 90 percent of all OEM surface-mount and flush-mount detectors. This detector can replace most Atwood and Dometic branded detectors, as well as Safe-T-Alert 20 series, 25 series, 30 series, 35 series, 40 series, 45 series, and 65 series detectors.

Because propane gas is heavier than air, it'll settle near the floor, so this detector should be installed 4" to 18" from the floor to accurately detect the presence of gas. Also make sure that the detector is located in an area that isn't near a window or door, behind furniture or drapes, or in a closet. It also shouldn't be installed with 24" near a stove, oven, fridge, or furnace.

Well, was trying to replace the discontinued Atwood 36719, which fits IN the door panel. This one, while it works fine, is about 1/8 inch too thick so our door for the bathroom in an Airstream hits it. Can't seem to fined one that fits back in the door as the Atwood did. May have to alter the door, which I would really do not want to do.

Still working well after 1 year

by:

Mounting plate allowed this smaller detector to correctly fit in the previous Atwood propane detector cutout. Two-wire installation just like the old one made installation easy. Screws included. Super fast shipping.

by:

This is a good replacement for the Atwood detector I had in my 2008 Newmar. The two different faceplates allow it to cover a wide range holes. This is a surface mount setup. You only need ~ 1" hole for the wires to pass through the wall.

by:

Functionally the unit works just fine. My complaint is that the case is somewhat translucent, and the status LED is super super bright. Between the LED's brightness and the translucent case, it lights up the RV at night and makes it difficult to sleep. The older detector that it replaced had a much more subdued status LED.

by:

I had ordered a propane gas detector to replace the one in my trailer that had expired. I received an email from Joshua B who informed me of a slightly different model he could ship immediately, and the price was 20% cheaper. I reviewed it out on the web page and decided to take Joshua's advice. I received the replacement; it was easy to install (15 minutes) and works great. These days we just don't see customer service like that anymore. Thank you, Joshua, your effort and service is very much appreciated.

by:

The original LPG Detector in our motorhome sat in what I would call the vertical position and was discontinued therefore no longer available. Etrailer showed this detector as a direct replacement even though it mounts in the horizontal position but the unit comes with two different mounting plates which allowed the original hole to be completely covered when the new unit was installed.

by:

Doesn't work. It is not working at all. Connected wires at install, no green light. By the way, there was no "in-line" fuse as is typically described with this install.

It sounds like you covered all the basics. I do not have anything to add, however I can send the warranty details for a replacement. Let me know.

by:

I think it looks good and was very easy to install, didn’t fit the hole the old one came out of but with the new flush mount that came with it, it covered the hole just right very pleased.

by:

Easy to install, and low profile. The holes didn't match up with the old Safe T alarm so I just drilled one new one, but it does come with 2 different back plates to cover any larger hole if you need to. Just connect red and black wires on unit to existing camper wires with wire nuts, or whatever connections you prefer. I tested the alarm with a lighter and it worked. Time will tell how long it lasts, before it needs replaced. My original one lasted about 3 years before it started going off in the middle of the night for no reason. It was a safe T brand. Overall, this one was priced right and is doing the job so far.

by:

Works as it should, It took about five minutes to install.Thank you for the quick service and the emails to track my product,I will buy from you again.

by:

Quick shipping, easy installation, replaced the previous Atwood perfectly

by:

Very simple installation and it easily covered the hole where the previous propane detector was factory mounted.

by:

Good response with on time delivery. Like the help on website recommending a replacement for my obsolete item. Very helpful

by:

Ordered this as a replacement for a discontinued model. Live chat was very helpful in locating the right replacement. I will not be installing it until May 3rd when camp opens.

by:

Product was a replacement for another brand that had recently failed. It covered the existing hole and was easy to install.

by:

Very fast service which is important when you’re dealing with trailer issues. You know, it always something! Good to have service you can depend on. Thank you

by:

ez to replace the one that expired. no problem whatsoever

by:

by:
