1,500-lb Capacity. Upgrade your vehicle's rear suspension with these maintenance-free helper springs. Sturdy microcellular urethane springs cushion bumps and help support a heavy load to level your ride and minimize sway. No-drill installation.

Specs:
Towing or hauling a heavy load can cause rear sag as your factory suspension compresses under the weight of the load. This means that the rear axle is trying to support not only the extra load but also the weight of your vehicle. And because there is less weight on your front axle, your front tires make less contact with the road, which causes problems with traction, steering, and braking. SumoSprings upgrade your vehicle's factory suspension to level your vehicle, improve driving performance, and keep your ride comfortable.
SumoSprings provide progressive load control - the more you load them, the stiffer they become. With a lighter load, the springs will compress easily for soft engagement and a less bumpy ride. The closed-cell urethane material allows for smooth contact between the springs and your vehicle. And the springs act like a shock absorber to dampen road vibration.
The springs can also compress by as much as 80 percent to support a heavy rear load and to help your factory suspension bear up under the load. This evens out the weight, which levels your vehicle and ensures that your front tires are making better contact with the road. A level ride means that you have improved driving control, ensures safe headlight aim, and helps to minimize sway. The springs also support your factory suspension, which helps prevent sagging and reduces bottoming out.
The springs work independently from one another to support each side of your vehicle. This action helps to reduce body roll when you make a sharp turn. This also helps compensate for an off-center load.
These microcellular urethane springs are tough. They resist abrasion, oil, salt, and UV rays that can more quickly wear out other springs, and they perform well in temperatures ranging from -25 F to 200 F (-33 C to 93 C).
SumoSprings compress vertically with minimum expansion to the sides, so they won't be damaged by nearby mechanical parts and they fit safely into tighter spots. And unlike air springs, SumoSprings require no maintenance or adjustment.
The helper springs are custom designed to fit your vehicle, and they install easily - no drilling required.
Sorry to say but I do not like how thay worked.
I only kept them on for 3 weeks. With a trailer on it worked good. But without a trailer when you hit bumps there's no give and it's a very very rough ride.
A lot rougher ride then a 3/4 ton or even a one ton. So I took them off and will not use them again. I'll just get airbags for my pickup.
The installation was a bit slower as this was a 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 and the bump stop did not have the bolt in the hollow opening. Instead, the bump stop and cup came off by removing a nut between the bracket and frame. Access to that bolt is more difficult but doable with an open end wrench. Then use the provided spacer and in my case one washer, and the provided nut and bolt to secure the spacer. The Sumo spring then simply screws on. Both fit very well leaving a gap between the spring and Axle. This installation was on a quadrasteer Denali. Very pleased with etrailer's written instructions (although a video for this vintage truck would have been great) and their delivery time.
This is one of the best upgrades ever. The sumo springs were like adding pillows to the back. Took out the bad body roll and rear shock chatter from the factory junk rancheros. On my Sierra 1500 2017 z71. Easiest install and upgrade spent on this truck.
The springs are easy to install and have definitely improved stability on all load configurations. I have a 2015 GMC 1500 Sierra Denali 6.2L to pull a 7,500lbs camper that has a 750lbs tongue weight. With the coil springs I was able to reduce the trailer load distribution pressure which reduced down pressure and wear on the trucks front suspension. The coils also work great with all of my other trailers and load configurations. I would definitely buy this product again.
On a down side: the ride (when unloaded) from the coils is a bit rougher due to a shorter "unloaded" suspension travel on rough surfaces. Can't have everything hope this helps ;-)
The Sumo springs engaged to early. The dwell between the axle, and the sumo spring is only half an inch. So unless the sumo spring is fully engaged, the truck bounces significantly every time we hit a bump. I would reduce the overall length of assuming spring by at least a half inch to allow time for the shocks to engage.
Great service and good communication. Product was delivered as described and works well! Have not installed them yet but will update posting when I do.
A little price but a good product
To rough of a ride, had to take them off. Wish I had sent them back.
Definitely helped ride hight with a trailer on
Improved tongue load capacity as advised, but made ride without load a bit bouncy over very happy with performance
Been 1 year great product, works
Thay fit perfectly and work great!
Fits as advertised. Easy install. Easy transaction and a good company to do business with.
