Jeff: Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com.Today we're going to take a look at this RVSafe 12-volt two-wire RV propane gas detector in the white color. Now, this propane gas detector alerts you to potentially dangerous levels of gas in your RV. It'll give you a continuous beep and a solid red light to indicate propane gas in your RV.It does use a nice, highly selective sensor, which means fewer false alarms from non-threatening gases. And on the very front here, it has a silence test button that you can push for easy testing of the alarm. The alarm intensity is about 85 decibels.

And at the end of this video, I'm going to hook it up to some power just to let you know how loud it is. You can see it is a nice compact design, for a low-profile modern look, has a nice curved shape to it. Be less obtrusive.Now, it does include these two universal mounting brackets to allow you to retrofit this to 90% of all surface and flush-mounted propane gas detectors. This unit will replace the Safety Alert 20 series, 30 series, and 40 series, and most Atwood and Dometic branded propane alarms. Does come with a nice set of instructions on how it operates, some mounting hardware to install it.Now, this does exceed the UL1484 and CSA requirements.

This one is in a white color. We do also sell one available in a black color. It's sold separately on our website. It's part number RS40RRS44FR, and it's listed on this product page as a related product.Now, a few specs on this. The lifespan is five years.

RV voltage requirement is eight volts to 15 volts. The LP sensitivity is low as 4,200 parts per million. I want to give you some dimensions on this. Overall length from this end to this end, that's going to be right at four and a quarter inches long. The width on it is two and five eights inches wide.

Depth is only about a half inch thick. Now the mounting hole spacing, here's a mounting hole here, center to center. That's going to be right at three and five eighths inches.Now, one note I do want to mention is because LP gas is heavier than air, this detector should be installed no more than 18 inches from the floor so that it can accurately detect the amount of gas in your RV.So what I'm going to do now is we're going to go ahead and hook it up. It has two wires. The black is your ground. The red is your power. So we'll go ahead and hook our ground wire up. And then we'll go ahead and hook our power wire up. And once we have them both hooked up, should be able to see . let's hook our power back up. And there's your green light.What I'm going to do is go ahead and zoom back in so you'll be able to see. There's your green light. I don't know if you can see it, it's hard to see, but the green light is on. It shows that it has power. And then what I'm going to do is push this. And then you could see with the power and then that test button, that the alarm intensity is about 85 decibel. It'll give you the continuous beep. And then right next to the green light it'll give you a solid red light that indicates that there's propane gas in your RV.Going to disconnect that and we'll zoom back out. But that should do it for the review on this RVSafe 12-volt, two-wire RV propane gas detector in the white color.
