That’s a really good question, Brian.

The Plowser snow plow for 2" hitches # PL53YR is designed for normal residential snowfalls - the kind you’d usually shovel or snow-blow - up to about 10 inches deep. It’s not meant to ram through frozen, compacted plow berms or ice chunks left behind after the snow has hardened from a city plow piling it up.

The best results come from using the Plowser early and often during a storm, before snow has a chance to freeze solid. If the city plow has already left a hard-packed wall, that’s where heavier commercial plows are needed.

Do you usually get out there pretty soon after it snows, or are you dealing with snow that’s been sitting for a while? That timing can make a big difference. I recommend getting out there right away, and if the city leaves a big pile, try leveling it down with a shovel then take the Plowser to it before it freezes solid.
